UPDATED!!
InuGrrrl and Lady blade hit the review boards and The Critic makes a final stand; which makes one wonder why he said 'Ta Ta For Now' at the end...

From the author that gifted us with Non-consensual =/= Rape, we are mortified to bring you, "Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up!"

InuGrrl's latest endeavor, The Edge of Seventeen, has drawn some interesting reviews recently.

First, The Critic straightforwardly points out that the fic contains factual errors regarding the Japanese culture.

Naturally, this enrages the masses for reasons yet to be determined. For her part, InuGrrl simply makes a kind author's note in her next chapter proclaiming that she has no interest in facts so no one should bother educating her.

Things quiet down until The Critic makes the scene to defend the critique and snark back at Kagaga no Subaba, and in the process provides some insight into why most fan fiction SUCKS now-a-days.

I have a feeling this might get entertaining, people. We've stumbled upon a Sueric in the making!!

This is my last response as well. Your insults don't bother me. Your aloof input? Who cares. I mean really? We both said what we had to say & after this I'm done with it. Unqualified I may be, but it's still my fic as you've pointed out & you *don't* have to read it. I haven't updated in days, so what does that mean? That you stalk it for reactions? Come on. Let it go. If the fic sucks, is inaccurate according to your extremely qualified opinion, or is just stupid in your eyes, walk away. It's as easy as that. I don't read anything that I consider a *pile of trash* and you shouldn't either. Just forget you ever saw it and let's all move on with our lives. After all this is fiction and last time i checked no part of InuYasha was real. Have a great one.

Oh, I certainly hope not. I'm so entertained!

Your insults don't bother me. Your aloof input? Who cares. I mean really?
Yes, because unbothered people often take the time to inform the antagonist just how unbothered they are...

We both said what we had to say & after this I'm done with it.
If you mean the fic, I'm breaking out the sacrimental sake!

Unqualifiededucated I may be, but it's still my fic as you've pointed out & you *don't* have to read it.
Thank GOD!

I haven't updated in days, so what does that mean? That you stalk it for reactions?
Or that he has better things to do than sit around and wait for your precious fic to be updated? Maybe? You think?

Come on. Let it go.
I think he already did that. See: his last message.

If the fic sucks, is inaccurate according to your extremely qualified opinion, or is just stupid in your eyes, walk away. It's as easy as that.
Great. Now I have U2 stuck in my head.

I don't read anything that I consider a *pile of trash* and you shouldn't either.
That's only because you can't recognize trash. Proof? You're writing some right now!

Just forget you ever saw it and let's all move on with our lives.
But then who would we mock? After all this is fiction and last time i checked no part of InuYasha was real. Have a great one.</i>
Well, except for the part that has to do with Japan's culture, religion, language, laws, school system... But otherwise? No truth at all.

Have I mentioned that I enjoy stupid people when I don't have to be the one dealing with them?

InuGrrrl MediaMiner Profile:

Hmmm...about me. I'm InuYasha's willing mistress...YUM!

I'm also a professional makeup artist, and p/t fan-fic writer.
I'm a person who doesn't have the time or the patience for mindnumbing bullshit. I keep it real -period. No sugarcoating, no lies, no self-righteous, self-absorbed nonsense. I respect those who are worthy of it &amp; I ignore those who are not.

So basically you are admitting you're nothing but a review hound who can't handle the real truth. Therefore you want it sugar coated, ALL lies, because you are self-righteous, and self-absorbed who loves nothing but nonsense.

I've met many great people on MM and other sites and I enjoy reading all kinds of fiction. I don't judge people based on spelling, grammar, or content. I either like the fic or I don't. It's not my style to put people down for expressing themselves or because I think I'm the self-appointed grammar police.

but when you put someone down who gives you their honest opinion its oke

My own fiction is diverse. I touch on a variety of subjects and content. None of them will EVER be perfect, that includes spelling, grammar and subject matter. So if you're looking for that, do yourself (and me) a favor and move on. But if you want to just read some fics with decent storylines, then by all means, check me out.

but dare review me with CC and I’ll MarySue you!

I beliefe you have to know what you wank so I tried to hard to read "The Edge of Seventeen" but could not go one. It hurt.........the laughing hurt.

Some examples:

That punk tried to cock block me

Does anybody know’s what this means?

Starting at his smooth ankles, to his strong calves to his hard thighs...to the snug CK boxers he wore

when boxers are a snug fit you know the must be from CK

"Undress me, InuYasha." She commanded softly, with half lidded eyes.

wouldn’t this lead to non-consensual sex, but not rape of course , since Inu is the Alpha male therefore does all the commanding?

His scent and taste was sweeter than the creamiest vanilla...richer than the finest wines and she couldn't get enough

Do I even need to command on this one?

Mariah Carey's The Roof reverberated off the walls as their bodies pressed together in exquisite agony.

every time I listen to Mariah Carey I’m in agony as well

--Let's see, if I were you, I would just die crawl in a hole and die. I guess it is hilarious but if you literally have NO IDEA what this MEANS then I think you're MENTALLY CHALLENGED. Ever heard of reading between the lines? Or even taking it literally? It basically means that the guy blocked her...Duh!!!!

"When boxers are a snug fit you know the must be from CK"
--Consider this, have you ever been to a third world country? Realize that not everyone knows it and it seems as if you're ignorant of this. You're ridicules seriously hurt you...

"'Undress me, InuYasha.' She commanded softly, with half lidded eyes.

wouldn’t this lead to non-consensual sex, but not rape of course , since Inu is the Alpha male therefore does all the commanding?"

--Hmm...you set yourself up for another ridicule. Alpha male??? True that canines show deference for an "alpha male" however Kagome isn't in the "pack" therefore not applying to her.

Wow this website has affected me very much now I believe I have a new agenda. To oppress the oppressors!!!! It truly is fun mocking people...so now I'm not going to fault you guys on that one!

That she was not going to look at this site because she has a life and is a WOMAN and not a girl, she repeats this numerous times. Then she tells us wankers to find a boy or girl to fuck, because again we need a life.
But an hour later all of her posts on this topic and the one of her mini legion disappeared.

Fandom Wank... ahhh...

A buttload of assholes poking fun at other assholes. When you play with assholes, children, you stir up shit.

I think it's hillarious that here sit the high and mighty Rumiko Takahashi wannabe squad, poking fun at other people's enjoyment and work.

Guess what children? There is, and will only ever be one Rumiko Takahashi. You can't expect inexperienced people to be novelists. So what if AU fics suck? There'a a bigger, brighter picture here, children! And you know the old adage, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Here's a handful.

We've got a webpage full of people who have nothing better to do than poke the assholes and make the funk rise. Why is that, I wonder? Do any of you have your flawless work to show? I sure as hell don't. My characters fall in love too fast, I don't beta, and I have a tendency to take a couple weeks to update... and those are the good qualities of my writing. But I love the hell out of it. I don't care who the hell reads it. I do it because it's fun. That's what Inugrrrl does. She writes because she enjoys to.

Here's a novel idea! If we don't like something... why not avoid it?

I'll come out and say it. The user puppetmaster is a nice kid. He means well. But I hate his work. So what do I do? Do I become a glorified asshat by making a board talking shit about the boy? No. I emailed him with the gory details of improvements I thought he could make in my humble opinion. People tell me shit to change all the time. But no one as of yet has been so chickenshit they couldn't tell me without a way for me to contact them and ask what else I could improve upon.

There was this one girl who took time out of her busy schedual to point out alllll the stuff that was wrong with my current fic. She wasn't a bitch about it. She didn't make snide remarks and bust my balls. She left those in private and we emailed about them.

oops... outta room, hold on.

Making a website completely devoted to the destruction of people's work, ripping it apart from the big picture and making it into spitballs. That's low down. And terribly... TERRIBLY immature.

I know, I know, what's "mature" on the internet? You could be. If you're not old enough to deal with the fact that there are people who write about princess Kagome with the faerie wings who's getting it on with Sesshomaru who magically falls in love with her in two sentences; If you're not old enough to deal with the way people write lemons ((or if you're too young, close your eyes, damnit)); If you don't like all the mispellings and bad grammar... Buy a goddamned book writen by a paid author. I like Irvine Welsh, he writes in dialect, you should check out "The Acid House". Stick to the Inuyasha manga. Stick to authors you know and love on the sight.

Ok, I'm sure I've overlooked something...

The "facts" thing. I'm never going to stop writing japanese words in inapproptiate places, or replacing english with a japanese word. I don't know what the hell half of that shit is myself. It's got nothing to do with "lack of fancy book learnin'" ((a-hyuck)) and has everything to do with one, small, simple fact.

I'm not Japanese.

Big shock, I know! I have never been to Japan, I'll never go to Japan, I hate Sushi, I hate the damned expensive ass Inuyasha stuff on ebay from Japanese sellers that I "won't find down (my) town!". I don't know why the hell Dennis DeYoung was thanking Mr.Roboto. Domo-kun can kiss my ass. And I'm still totally pissed I've only seen one episode of "Tokyo Breakfast" and I have no idea if there are others.

And I'll bet there's not one "expert" on this board who speaks fluent Japanese. I'll also bet that I don't have to speak Japanese to write fanfiction. I read english, I write english, I watch the show in english ((and I do agree with the damned purists, it IS better in Japanese, with subtitles of course)). So what the hell would I know about being Japanese, or speaking Japanese, or writing about Japanese things?

I didn't know being((or faking being))/speaking ((or reading a few words out of a dictionary without any knowledge of how to conjugate the verbs around the nouns)) was a requirement to enjoy reading, writing, and enjoying fan fics.

I guess I'll go leave an anonymous note on InuGrrl's page sniggering at her failure to spell arigato correctly. Or maybe I should start a fight on her message board, now that I'm all 1337, and posing as a Japanese girl.

But I can do one better. I can put down the stirring stick, find a better fucking hobby than being a snide bitch, drop my balls and enjoy what I like, avoid what I don't.

Have a nice night, guys...

James ((Lucient))

*smirk*

Nice Lucient...very nice...I couldn't have said it better myself. ^_^

It's absolutely crazy when one thinks about the amount of people that need to put others down in an attempt to lift their own confidence in themselves. I ask you, does it really make you feel better about your poor pathetic selves to continuously diss other people and their writing? Does it make you think your own writing is better or something? Because I am at a complete LOSS as to why someone would even devote time to doing this! I mean, are you really that bored during the day? Whatever it is, you have way too much time on your hands. I mean an ENTIRE WEBSITE, for crying out loud...

Again, as Lucient said, why not be mature for a change?? And then there's the old-as-time belief that if one does not find something, in their opinion, to be worth reading, then one should just not read it at all. Keep your flamatory opinions to yourselves and leave the rest of the world in peace.

And if you decide to defend yourselves with the fact that it is "constructive criticism," I would just like to point out that CC is focused on giving HELPFUL advice and suggestions about the author's WORK, and not dedicated to FLAMING the author her/himself. If the author does not wish to receive CC, then simply DON'T GIVE IT. Why bother wasting time critiquing (or criticizing, as you seem to love doing) work when the author does not even ask for it?

It's a huge wasted chunk out of the day if you ask me.

Then there's the fact that you, for one, have no right to go flaming other people about their imperfect work when you haven't got anything to show for yourself. Not only is it hypocrisy, it's simply annoying! It's hurtful, derogatory, and just a huge waste of time and energy. I suggest you go and start polishing your own writing so that you have something to show for yourself.

Also keep in mind the fact that this is FAN FICTION. There are so many other more inaccurate, impossible, incredibly badly written fanfiction out there, and you choose this one woman's work out of them all? I suppose that should be considered somewhat of an honor, that someone on this earth could "care" so much as to dedicate precious time and effort to have their work flamed.

But then again I'm being sarcastic.

So what's my point? Simple. Take your hatred-induced opinions, derogatory flames, complaints, criticisms, and anything else you may have against this fan fiction and author and shove it up your ahole. Because frankly, one gets sick of it. If you don't like this fan fiction, don't read it. If you don't like any other fanfictions after this, don't read THOSE either. Stick to the series if you can't handle the scenes and ideas our creative minds come up with. Don't put yourself at risk of having a a hemorrhoid because you're so "bothered" by what we write.

Get over yourself and get a life.

And as Lucient said, find a better hobby. Because I swear...people like you are so incredibly overestimated and overrated.

^_^

Sincerely,
Michiko

So what, she wrote something that was out of context from the actual Inu-Yasha series, *gasp* thus we get an AU story. But to see you all bashing one person, you are all cowards to need so many people to pick on ONE person. This is why bullying happens, because people like you can't stop pointing out differences or mistakes that others have or make. Why can't you leave well enough alone. Oh that's right because you need to point out things about other people to make yourselves feel better. People like you disgust me, no one deserves this kind of bullshit, oh but since nothing like this is happening to you then it doesn't matter because as long as you can laugh your ass off while making someone else feel like shit about themselves then everything is ok. You need to grow up, I don't care if you still sit behind the computer all day long but grow up a little.
I've never heard nor seen any of this kind of crap before and seeing it now really makes me see that even bullying on the internet happens. But that's right, you will never understand how that feels until it happens to you. Then you'll feel like shit because those people are treating you like shit.. but you know what, shit seems to be higher then you all, which is a sad thing to say. Bullies need to stop or just die, either way it'd be fine and the world would be one hell of a better place without you all. Have a nice day and even if I didn't get through you pea sized brains right now when something bad happens to you I hope you think about the crap you're pulling right now because what goes around comes around. If you would like to contact me here's my email address: meowmouth2005@hotmail.com and don't fill my email with crap that is not important to me. I'm merely going against the bullying and crap that is going on here, nothing more nothing less. Ja!

Comment/Review:
Hi, this fic and rebound are by far your best fics yet, at least in my own opinion. Anyway, I really like this story, but one thing has been bugging me. Is this set in Japan? In my mind I'm thinking that it's set in America or Canada, because the story seems to fit better with the consent laws, Inu's car, and taboo/imoralness of incest. In Japan, the age of consent is 13, and while I'm not sure if this is still legal there, first cousins are allowed to marry and have children. I'm pretty sure that in Japan incest between cousins is not seen as an imoral act as well. That's all I wanted to ask and point out. Keep up the good work!

I was the first one to bring up the plot holes with her fic, Though I was pretty much ignored. I do like Edge of Seventeen, but things just don't fit. I'm pretty sure Japanese teens aren't breaking it down to Mariah Carrey and 50 cent. And are american cars that well known there? I mean gas costs a TON there, so someone would have to be rich to just fill up the gas tank in an american car like the one in the fic. Then there's the school-to-work program as well. That just bugged the hell out of me. Aren't most japanese high schools about getting good scores? I know that a lot don't let their students have part-time jobs so that they can study. And the 16 year old driving? It's 18 in japan, and it costs big money to get a license as well!

There's just so many incorrect facts in that story, that she should just make it set in the US.

Also, I haven't heard any Japanese say 'By the gods!'

It's kami-sama, dammit.
