It's all Ahiru's Fault! - That Civil War Icon is So Offensive
Our own [info]ahiru made the very popular icon I'm using in response to a Harmonywank where someone claimed Harmonians were like black slaves.

[info]light_music thinks the icon's evil and insensitive. So do a lot of other people. The thread's here.

I'm blaming this all on Rowling, though. Or maybe Robert E. Lee.

I\'m so sick of having to be so fucking politically correct everytime a black screams about racism! Sometimes its just a joke! I like black people as much as anyone else but they aren\'t beyond fucking with. Good for you for not giving into to her oppression bullshit. Slavery was a long fucking time ago and frankly I\'m sick of hearing about it.

Eh, if you don't want to hear about slavery and historical oppression, you've come to the wrong person. When I'm not on FW, my idea of fun is studying and discussing those.

I wasn\'t saying I didn\'t want to hear about it like learning about it and all but I think people are too sensitive about it. It happened a long fucking time ago and I dont think white people need to apologize any more. Ithink if people want to make icons out of Harriet Tubman they should be able to even if it offends the black people. What doesn\'t offend the black people? You sneeze now and someone cries racism. I think that icon is funny as shit, btw. If they think you\'re a racist then big fucking deal because they\'ll probably think that anyway if you do something like breathe or drink your coffee with too much cream in it.

Oh man. I'm so sick of all the poor opressed white folks who scream "political correctness" and "get over it" every time a black person dares to be offended.
