The young ladies who are fans of Gyllenhaal and Ledger do not want to see them making out.
WorldViews is apparently a site for "Daily News" and "Christian Views."

Someone named Jared Wilson posts a long commentary about Brokeback Mountain, basically saying that he thinks American audiences won't like the movie because of "the 'yuck' factor" accompanying homosexuality.

Some highlights of his post:

For all of our modern cultural "enlightenment," and despite the pervasiveness of gay characters and stories all over American media, and regardless of the success of shows like "Will & Grace" and "Queer Eye," by and large Americans -- blue state, red state, Christian and non -- innately find homosexuality repulsive.

To be blunt, we know anal sex is gross, and we especially know anal sex between men is repulsive. Even for most of those who have no basis for which to call it a sin find the act itself "gross."

America likes her gay cowboys standing on stage with others in costume, singing "YMCA." Beyond kitsch, beyond sentimentality, the reality is yucky.

And everyone's favorite:

The young ladies who are fans of Gyllenhaal and Ledger do not want to see them making out.

Folks who managed to find his post from Google News or other blogs chime in about how wrong he is about that last one:

Actually, there are lot of straight women including myself who DO want to see two good-looking men who basically look straight make out.
You are really out of touch!

I am a female and I very much want to see Heath and Jake make-out. Hell, I don't even find them attractive, but the promise of man-on-man action will drag me (and eight of my closest female friends!) to the theater the day this movie opens.

Um, I wanna see Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal making out. Topless, if possible.

I happen to be a hetrosexual female in her mid 30s and I find homoerotica between two men to be a turn on. (Not all that different from how a lot of straight men get turned on by lesbians, really.)

Just one more female here to say that I can't wait to see this movie. My female roommate and I are both really looking forward to it. I can't speak for her, but I know that I personally am aroused by the idea of two men kissing. I've always found that to be erotic.

I'm a heterosexual woman and I can't wait to see this film. Seriously, if you think that women find sex between men disgusting, why don't you go to google and type in the phrase "slash fiction".

And some of his replies to his critics:

Yes, I'm out of touch. Sheesh.

I've never attended a bath house either, but I know male-on-male action is gross.

This is a spin-off blog that rarely garners more than one comment per post, and yet all of a sudden this post has a mass of gays and gay advocates filling up the thread. Where did you hear about this post?
Do you just camp out on WORLD's site waiting for someone to bring up homosexuality?

Well, given the inordinate amount of gay commenters on this single post on a site whose readership is overwhelmingly evangelical Christian, I'm not sold that all you "fans" of this stuff are a good representative sample. ;-)

I stopped even considering the "I'm a young woman and I like to watch men get it on" stuff once I realized nearly everyone was clicking over from gay-sex blogs. This a bit like me writing a post that generalizes "Men don't like chick flicks" and having the entire male contingent of the Meg Ryan Fan Club coming over to tell me I'm wrong. So I'll clarify: Except for gays and fans of gay porn, people find gay sex gross. ;-)

Mr. Wilson has since closed down the comments:

Well, that's it folks. I thought I'd leave the thread open at least until the weekend, but since nobody bothers to read the comments and instead just wants to yell insults, ignore answers I've already provided, repeat the same ridiculous logic and invective, and basically make the peace and tolerance you're so fond of a big fat hypocritical joke, I'll have to close them. A few folks said some interesting things and seemed interested in genuine dialogue. But that was about 100 comments ago.

Still, there's some mighty fine readin' there, as well as on Pandagon, where I found the link.
