Over on [info]fanficrants, quettaser complains about a website. Seems the site owner ships both a het and a slash OTP, which quettaser finds objectionable. Most comments think the OP should take a chill pill, but _mausi is offended:

What's wrong with that is that she obviously isn't respecting our ship - she's practically making a joke of it.

The hell? A person can't like both het and slash?

I'm in the LOST fandom, and nobody seems to have a problem with the fact that I 'ship both Locke/Helen and Locke/Boone. Or that I like Michael/Jin, Jin/Sun, and Sun/Michael. And Michael/Libby. I've never met an S.O.S.er who objected to be both giggling over the canon Tracey/Sceve and liking Sceve/Stott. If I like Locke/Eko, must I be adverse to Ana/Eko?

Just gah.

I'm an unenlightened sort of fangirl. I don't read het fics in any of my fandoms. It's not what I'm interested in reading, and I'm really not a big fan of getting het in my slash.

That being said... Dear wankers, grow a goddamned spine, will ya? Someone being all pro-het on their own website won't make your porn suddenly disappear. Het and slash are not, in fact, matter/anti-matter, good/evil, O'reilly/Franken, or any other mutually destructive pair of opposites.
