Beatle-ish wank
Over in yon [info]beatlepics, macca_hero posts a picture of a John Lennon drawing, in very large font no less, and goes on to rant about how "omg horrible" it is, and how the "person who did this should be ashamed and we plan on hunting them down and reaming them out until they cry."

Pretty wanky and elitist, and the commenters say so (not all, some of whom agree that it's a pretty crappy drawing).

And then, macca_hero posts that she's the one who drew the picture and it was all JUZT A JOKE!!

Few people buy it.

Edited to fix HTML; that's what comes of teaching yourself, I suppose . . .

HTML hint: you might want to uses something like "<big><big><big><b>" instead of "<h2>". H2 forces a vertical space between the the H2'd text and the surrounding text, rather than just making the text bigger.

Um...John was always the ugliest of the Fab Four. No matter how fab he was, he was just rather unimpressive to look at. That said, I do have a poster of the picture of him at the Statue of Liberty (you know the one, by Yoko), as he was a good musician that I enjoy.

The funny thing is, 15 year olds boasting about how they're so much cooler cuz they know more about the 60s than some other 15 year old who's just a Beatles fan wannabe makes an old hag like me feel, for an instant, something resembling cool. Oh, wait, it was just a hot flash ending ... never mind.

Whoa, even in my most pretentious Beatles fan days, I never would have freaked out like that over a picture. I don't even understand why the picture is supposed to be offensive. I mean, I thought, when I clicked on the link, that we'd get Zombie!Lennon (which would be as funny as Zombie!Jesus) or the old joke "How can you reunite the Beatles?" or something, you know, actually offensive.

My favorite bit was the first comment, deriding everybody who wears Stairway to Heaven tshirts and knows that Paul's married to a one-legged model.

This is just confusing.

I like what the OP says when k_diddy suggests she indicate when she is making a joke (or, you know, actually be funny):

"Yeah, lost of people do that. Sorry, I just like the idea of being the minority. Whether people respect it, or want to come after me with crowbars (probably how most of you felt), it gives me a sort of rush. And especially over Live Journal.. my God.. lol.

You should try it sometime."

Making people angry on LiveJournal is her anti-drug.

Actually, I think the picture bears a very strong resemblance to the character Johnny Depp voiced in "Corpse Bride".....

No dates or anything, might as well have said he died today for crying out loud. The whole point of this should be to have the dates on there, so that people will know that he died 25 years ago and that he made such an impact on the world that his remembrance is still going strong.

Yeah. Right. Because people would never remember who John Lennon was if it wasn't for a sucky-ass drawing posted on an art room door....and there must be dates on it, because there might actually be some freakin' moron who would think that "OMG John Lennon died today WTF???"

*headdesk*
