Another day, another HP sploogefest.
Over at LJ, kate_mc sets up The Rant Room, which is really just another way of saying HP Christmas Wankfest. But what else could we expect, with an introduction that rallies the anti-R/Hr fans with such an enlightening look at R/Hr, as exemplified here:
4) You don't fall in love with strangers unless you're from India or something. Didn't it seem strange at all to anyone? It was like book 1: I don't know you, book 2: your Ron's sister, book 3: Ron's sister, book 4: I saw you at the Yule Ball with Neville, book 5: you started talking to me, book 6: BAM! I LOVE YOU! ...No offense but that's totally weird. (Don't worry, somebody actually called her on that.)
It's just an bottomless well of splooge, stupidity, and pitiful amusement after that.
Highlights include kate_mc banning anonymous comments after a mouse points out that JKR said it was R/HR in a linked interview. And another thread where kate_mc proves her complete inability to comprehend sarcasm.

Just the thought of Ron and Hermione together makes me want to be sick. There's nothing I hate more than starting to read a fanfic and finding a casual mention of Ron and Hermione snogging. I hate the way the sneak up on you like that! These bloody Herons should warn people! It's disgusting.a_fallen_girl
The thing I hate the most about R/Hr shippers is their "canon evidence" which, in all actuality, is pure opinion/fan speculation. >_< I'm all for reading between the lines, but they just take it to a whole new (annoying) extreme.

First I hate that they call themselves the GOOD ship. It's so disdainful... "We're the good ship. All other ships are wrong!!" Well, if they're the "Good" ship, H/Hr is the "RIGHT" ship!!!sraighii
The obvious starting place, R/Hr.

I mean, jeez, so you've got Ron being a jealous bloody prat in front of the person he's supposedly madly in love with and in front of other people, so the general idea is that not only is he "second to Harry Potter" but now he's "The great annoying prat who's STILL second to Harry Potter". My God! So you've supposedly got "confirmation" from "J.K. Rowling herself". Well, that's nice. It's good to know you're an inside, close, personal friend to her, and that she's all of a sudden had the largest fucking brain cramp in history to tell you anything. esus, these people need to be taken to a bloody psychiatric ward or something. The Yule Brawl is not "sexual tension" dammit! It's "I'm going to rip your bloody head off in a second if you don't get away from me" tension. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE!!! Argh! Well, I could continue on these idiots, but let us continue to some shippers who I loathe almost as much as R/Hr shippers, shall we?
(Actually, I think most people think R/Hr because, y'know, Rowling stated it as such in an interview. But, y'know, logic.)h_hrlova
The H/G and R/Hr are the pure definitions of the shippers that support them. Shallow, fickle, lustful, mindless, gregarious, vapid, selfish types..
Relationships say a lot about somebody's personality, I hope these types don't screw the world over with their love-hate= perfect little relationship. Watch the divorces and the lawsuits increase tenfold. H/Hr will stand the test of time...
