Research? Ok!
Fanficrants is at it again.

[info]waffle_heiress makes a post ranting about how fic authors need to do research on childbirth before they write fics about. Hilarity ensues when it is pointed out that she is actually wrong on several points in her rant. [info]dz_crasher starts wanking pretty hard here.

Babies have no motor skills? Uh ... right.

I love the grip thing though. It was so much fun to activate it on my little cousins. "Look what I can make the baby do! [puts her finger in its palm] Hee!" Okay, I'm weird.

Found the dz_crasher wank boring though. "Stop getting mad!" "I'm not getting mad, YOU'RE getting mad."

Beyond that they smell delicious, that's my favorite part about babies. You're not alone in your weirdness.

Wow, childbirth AND grammar wank. Me likey very much. And while it is still practice in some countries for the father not to be allowed at the birth no matter what the circumstance, that certainly is not the case with c-sections in the U.S. Or prematurity, my older daughter was born at 29 weeks by c-section and they let my husband be there. [info]waffle_heiress really should have made sure of what she was ranting about first.

[info]dz_crasher needs to take a tad bit of a chill pill. To be honest i always get slightly annoyed when someone corrects a misspelling or grammar mistake when it has nothing to do with the conversation, but still i get why they do it and i don't flip out.

I am very strenuously restraining myself from responding to dz's last comment in the grammar wank with "inappropriate".

Also questioning his definition of "inappropriate".

Man, I hate pregnancy wank. All that happens is it gets TMI, and ends up with me more firmly ensconced in my position that it is WEIRD AS FUCK and weird things happen and I want nothing to do with it. Until it stops being so weird, or the proverbial they can guarantee nothing will rip or be squelchy or make me eat weird food.

Yep. I will biologically reproduce when science gets on the damn ball and gives us Bujoldean uterine replicators already. Otherwise, pregnancy seems waaay too much like mutation to me.

[Newborns] have no motor skills when they're born!

Umm...so all that kicking, bouncing, rolling around, and punching I felt in my tummy was just a bad case of indigestion?

Actually, if a newborn doesn't have the Hand Grasp reflex (as well as several others, we call the neurologist.

I hope this woman didn't take home a flaccid baby with no motor skills.

...I'm sorry, but whenever I hear the word 'flaccid' I think of penis, so your sentence read as "I hope this woman didn't take home a flaccid penis with no motor skills."

.....I have a dirty, filthy mind.

I dunno, indefatigable42 is being pretty annoying too, with that tired "you should be grateful for the advice" angle. dz_crasher is way high-strung, but correcting the grammar of strangers in LJ comments isn't exactly polite.

Thank you fandom.

Oh, and spelling incorrectly in an lj post does not = the devil, however crying about it for 6 post afterwards does.

What's this about the father not being able to go to the operating room? I thought it was the natural/standard thing. You know, the usual thing to do.

(Unless you are like my father who fears blood and was scared to death to go there. Contrary to that though, my brother loved being there when her daugther was born.)

And about the motor skills... No comment.
