The was I see it, it's more about the good old "I wished people would write realistically if they're not writing PWP" vs "you cares about what YOU want, bitch. STFU." type of stuff.
The OP is an incest fan herself, and from a writer's POV, I can understand that a fic that claims to have serious plotting should at least take into account what society stamped into the characters - like, Hakkai from Saiyuki had that point where he said "Well, Kanan was my sister, but we thought it was okay" showing that he has at least thought about the issue.
But apparently, even that's asked too much for certain posters in that thread... *shrugs*

Most wanks I find funny. This one just pissed me off. I mean, I don't agree with the OP, but she stated her opinion very clearly, and then everyone ignores that fact. The comment where one of the wankers was like, "OMG I'm on fandom_wank!" leads me to believe that she was just wanking for attention. There was really nothing in the original post to summon the wank that arrived.

I am so odd because to me what's more wrong than Squall/Laguna (I don't get it or like it but for some reason I'm not squicked by it), is Harry/Sirius.

That pairing squicks the fuck out of me and I can't wrap my head around why it seems more incesty than a lot of incesty pairings.

Also, I find it ironic that someone posts this sentence on FFR: Hey...people aren't always going to write how you think they should.

Er. Yes. But FFR wouldn't exist if the belief in the fact that by ranting you can make all the badfic magically go away wasn't so strong.

It's a community called fanficrants.What's with the people showing up and saying, "You shouldn't rant about that!" I mean, if I wanted to go there and rant about the usage of tomatoes in fanfiction, if I am truly bothered by tomatoes, why shouldn't I? Is the point to rant about something that bugs you, or to rant about something everyone else will agree with?

Personally, I find the wank both amusing (man, could mortifyd and daredare troll more infuriatingly? XD) and utterly fustrating (I don't think most of those posters got the point-- they seem to be spooging "She's complaining about incest! OMG she's squicked and wants us all to do what she says and act how she expects!").

I think it's pretty clear that the OP was upset by the lack of realistic characterization/realistic thoughts in what's supposed to be serious fic, and glossing over serious issues she thinks should probably be thought about. The people commenting mostly look like idiots, though... Ah well. Wankery is wankery, right?
