If they think Bush is teh Ebil, what do they think Saddam Hussein is? Being an uber concervative against abortion, gay rights, and just needing to pull your head out of your ass is far from genocide. Nor does disagreeing with all those people equal torture, although they're all so special they probably think it does. Because they know exactly how to change the world and make it a better place, and, dammit, that's what they're going to dedicate their lives to!!

They need to fall the hell off their high horses.

I actually have a friend who thinks that poor George Bush is just doing the best he can and has got hit with a lot of bad shit during his terms.

This completely ignores the fact that dealing with those kinds of things is what his goddamn position calls for.

I can kinda see where the OP is coming from, but on the flip side, I agree with the responses that if she's missing the significance of the current political situation on a series about lesbians...I mean, nobody really *enjoys* politics, per se, but our idealogical beliefs are ultimately a part of who we are, so it's only logical that some characters are going to express views at some point or another. Now, it's nice and all to have a balanced approach to politics in a series, but in a series with multiple gay characters, wouldn't you expect that the creators to have a more liberal mindset?
