My first post, go easy, all that jazz.

Someone makes a Dragonlance post on Bad_rpers_Suck that smacked slightly of homophobia, apparently. People replied, and said as such. I didn't see the first post, but it was summarized to me as: "Him saying that he was sick of all the girls kissing girls on his RP. That gay acts had no place in a fandom that was based in medieval times."

So, because everyone didn't agree with him, I guess, he felt the need to lock everything, and then deleted the post, coming back with this this post.

Most people call him out that yeah, cybering is stupid, but deleting post when people don't agree with you is stupider.

EDIT:

Fading_light snarkily admitting she deleted comments, screen capped for you viewing pleasure, not by me.

Spillover wank gifted by Anon, in which Fading_light exhibits no sense of humor, and the classic "I'm not a homophobe because I have gay friends!" argument. Although to give her points, I don't like seeing people make out either...but being how that usually involves seeing the spit that grosses me out, unless she has an uber interactive computer of doom, I don't see how it applies to chat rps.

I found Black Books a few days ago due to a glitch on my cable system. Is it as good as it seems?

And are there any other fandoms where it's impossible not to use double entendres in any discussion therof?

My favorite part is where the people bringing up arguments backtrack and say, "Not that I'm calling you a homophobe or anything!" when the OP admits to it. Classic.

Shouldn't a rule about deleting and reposting be added to the ones about the number of "clarifying edits" and posting in one's own journal about the wank?

Seeing two people of the same sex makes my skin crawl. I don't want to see it in real life and I don't want to see it in a chat

To me, that kind of steps right over the line of smacking slightly of homophobia.

a fandom that was based in medieval times

I will concede that Dragonlance is a medieval setting when they get rid of the gladiators.

And the gnomes.

And the mages, kender, and cities of tree-dwelling elves. Historical fantasy is a fine and lovely thing, but Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, Dragonlance is not.

Even though the OP is being a spectacular asshat, I'm more interested in this bit of whining going on.

It registers high on my "Uhm, what?!" scale and just degenerates from there. Yes, there's a lot of shitty fics written by kids who know nothing, but pointing out the yaoi and yuri ones to whine that there's not enough het smacks of the OP's own behavior.

Why does every fantasy setting end up being labeled "medieval"? It's fantasy. It doesn't even take place on Earth.

...oh, god. I used to RP where I think this chick is talking about (we have a friend in common and I recognise a bunch of her other friends as people I used to RP with).

And the chats had full-out cybering going on five years ago. People were doing the same thing. I don't think there were any Evil Gays ZOMG!!11!, but there was cybering.

So: fading_light is a bigot and a hypocrite. Loser.
