Ninety-eight percent? Seems a bit unlikely, given that most of the women I know who write yaoi and slash are in their 20s and 30s. Hell, I'm 47, and if we're going to start getting street cred for being tolerant, one of my sons is gay and it don't make no never mind to me.

No one ever has any good, decent arguments to back them up on this. 98% of these wankers have an IQ under 75 and only dislike the pairing because it's "omgeeeww, it's disgusting!" and I really just can't tolerate such mindless crap like that. :(

The first time I read a yaoi was when I was twelve, and it was a Cid/Vincent fic.

Too bad for me that I didn't understand what yaoi was and was so horribly, horribly confused by it. And now, I have so much fun reading about yaoi couples. Or even making them up! Like in Growlanser!

...Though admittedly, the subtext in Growlanser is... well.. barely subtext.

Also, why does no one like Aerith/Vincent? The only A/V fic I've ever read is IKWBTSF. Seriously! Is no one else amused with the idea of Aerith sticking sparkley, pink flowers in Vincent's hair and trying to make him less emo?

You know what I don't get in FF7 fandom? Pairing Sephiroth with anyone, since I get the impression that he's severely socially and emotionally retarded and more than likely asexual.

One reason I don't read much FF7 fic anymore is because the shippers are so rabid it's very rare I find ANY fic where the coupling is plotted into the story. And I kinda like my fic to make sense.
