What a lot of illiterates don't get is H/G shippers have been attacked for more than five years now for being the delusional ones. Along comes book six and who's delusional? We've been attacked FOREVER because we saw the truth from the start and what we saw was called dreaming, wishful thinking and denial of first H/Hr and then H/L. If we hadn't been called morons for so long we wouldn't have been flinging that back at the anti-H/G idiots after HBP showed who was right and who was wrong.

H/G IS CANON.

And when it comes to certain fandom environments, like SQ, you have a right to expect the people there to be supportive of OBHWF. This is why it was annoying for a SugarQuiller to post this survey that said that H/G wasn't canon!

If H/G shippers have a persecution complex it's because we HAVE been attacked, constantly, for a very long time, both before and after book six. Book six SHOULD have meant the people who were wrong (at least the ones who have any integrity) admitting they were wrong, but NO. Instead they continued to call H/G shippers idiots, insisted that Harry and Ginny broke up so that means he's going to be getting together with Hermione, Luna, Tonks, Ron, Draco, Ron AND Hermione, Ron AND Draco, etc. Even though anyone with a brain could see that Harry did not WANT to break up with Ginny and that storyline is far from over.

Jo created her to be HARRY'S IDEAL GIRL. What part of that do the idiots not get?

Though I should say I've occasionally heard the odd H/G-er say something that was delusional in support of the ship. And once again, this is why I love being a non-canon shipper. We acknowledge canon and then just continue doing our thing. We even are capable of enjoying more than one pairing. Imagine that! If the worst thing you've been called is a moron, you're doing all right. I've lost track of how many times slashers have been called 'paedophiles' and homophobic insults. If you're letting people get to this much because they don't like your OTP, it's probably time to step away from the computer.

Oh, and my OTP is HP/SS and I agree that in canon, Ginny is his ideal girl, but not for any happy fluffy reasons. (You know, I'd like H/G a lot more if it weren't so Sweet Valley High and if it played up the darker aspects of their relationship.)

	Rowling said her books would get darker with each one and I expected as such, but that fluff threw me for a loop. She was using a different definition of canon. It takes a bit of twistiness, but it is understandable. I'm fairly sure that she thinks it will end up with H/G. I shall ask her right now:

Me: For the purposes of mouse education on FW, do you think it will end up H/G?

ABN: The books?
Me: Yes.
ABN: Definitely, if Harry lives.
Me: Okay!
ABN: They still love one another.

No, no. If you want people to feel for you, refer to such attacks with dry humor and downplay them. The people who agree will be more likely to stand with you. This way, they might be embarrassed. If you get very ship ranty on FW, you are not likely to get many friends.

I started out agreeing with you, but you're acting like people are seriously thinking it'll be a slashy or threesome ending. They don't. People can like what they want in fanon -- nobody likes it when people go on about how bad obviously fanon ships are. Also, Harry/Ron is so much better than many other ships, including H/Hr. I have a very good fic ... here we go. Two Households, Both Alike In Dignity. It roxxorz. It ROX my SOX. Anyway, my point is: don't flip over fanon pairings. Save the energy for H/Hr. *winks*
