Michael Muhney, star of regular on actor in TV's Veronica Mars, has a pleasant history of interacting with his online fans, most notably on LiveJournal (rack_of_lamb) and FanForum. Usually he makes posts along the lines of "Hey, guys, that fan thing was awesome and here's what I've been up to!" and/or quotes Napoleon Dynamite at the internet.
However.

One of the fangirls organizes an email campaign to spam Rob Thomas, the showrunner, with emails reading "MUHNEY AS A REGULAR!". (Showrunners love that sort of thing, haven't you heard?)
About the same time, Mr. Muhney makes a (bitter)sweet little post about how the show is like a party, and he's just glad to be invited. Or maybe he wasn't invited to the party and is sad about it? I forget, because he's edited the post!
He's also edited a post in which he defends co-Veronica Mars actor Teddy Dunn, whose character and acting abilities are quite controversial, here.
Indilime wants to know why!

He edited the second one because his webmaster, Maruschka, posted in the original campaign idea post that iwillrememberu started that RT was getting mad about all of the spam mail he was getting from Michael's fans. She thought it might be backfiring on Michael. So he edited so as not to encourage any more emailing to RT.
Most of the wanky comments are in the e-mail campaign post, including this telemarketer-style "But if he has his email out in public, he must want to be emailed! By spammers like me!" defense and this, my favorite exchange of the whole thing:
spectralbovine: I suggest you A) Take that address out of the post to prevent crazies from going wild and B) Use the e-mail form on Rob's website.
iwillrememberu: That's what I wanted to say but the email form is gone....
spectralbovine: Hmm. Interesting. Guess he doesn't want to be e-mailed anymore.
It's a mini-wank so far, relatively speaking, but I think it's got legs. Whenever production staff/actors and fans interact, the crazy is sure to follow!
edit: Apparently Rob Thomas is getting a little fed up with the Muhney campaigners. From this rack_of_lamb post:

I think Rob's being sarcastic and playing around. Like, "yeah, yeah, I get it." I'm sure it does good for him to know that we love Lamb.
