More WoW 'Gay Friendly' Guild Wank
Grabbed from a mousie on [info]wank_report. Not too long ago, a post about the wankery revolving around the creation of a gay friendly guild in the online game World of Warcraft was posted here. Now, the plot thickens as Lambda Legal, the legal group dedicated to the protection of gay and lesbian civil rights, has thrown their hat into the ring:

http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/breaking/wow-blizzard-gets-gay-rights-warning-153075.php

"On Friday we broke the news that Lambda Legal was getting involved in the whole gay rights in World of Warcraft issue. Today we learned that the legal firm has sent Blizzard an official letter questioning their policies. In the letter to Blizzard president Mike Morhaime and Vivendi In-House Counsel, Lambda Legal spells out the foundation for possible litigation in the issue. The attorneys explain how an online world can be considered a place of business and how current anti-discrimination laws would apply."

Most of the wankery exists in the comments to this post. People on both sides are up in arms. One faction wants Lamda Legal to mind its own business and stop trying to apply real world law to the virtual realm, while others argue in favor of the legal action.

Choice commentary includes remarks such as:

"why are they just gay friendly? are they not black friendly? what about penguin friendly? how about midget friendly? if theyre all those things, why dont they advertise that?"- tony528 (sic)

Obviously, Lamda Legal doesn't care about black people. (Sorry, I had to say it.)

And, of course, there is the obligatory mention of Nambla in the comments. A nice little collection of splooge in this one.
