How DARE you write pairings that I dislike?!?
Over at [info]fanficrants, [info]rigelianmirror politely asks the Fruits Basket fandom to stop writing Kyou/Tohru, because Hanajima said not to. Or something along those lines. People point out that Kyou/Tohru is actually canon, to which [info]rigelianmirror replies:

Ehh. I still say that from a realistic point-of-view, that kind of pairing never works. I just don't get the mass appeal of assholish characters. o.o;


Other highlights include:

I don't like anime fans of Fruits Basket because the anime sucks.

Also? I'm amazed. A lot of the comments here are, in their most basic form, "READ MANGA, STUPID! KYOU/TOHRU IS CANON! NEENER NEENER NEEEENER! YOU SUCK! HAW!" ... Do you think I care? I still think Kyo is an asshole, plain and simple. o.o;

What's with the Kyo-bashing? I mean he DOES get better as the manga goes on and he's not even that much of an asshole to begin with (I think Akito has THAT title locked up).

And what IS UP with people telling people what NOT to write? Isn't that what "don't like, don't read" is for?

A long time ago, long before Yuki dropped out of the triangle, I predicted that Kyou/Tohru would become canon and it would cause neverending--though low-grade, because Fruits Basket fandom is relatively mellow--wank. After all, Kyou is OMGABUSIVE, or whatever. I don't keep up with the reasons du jour for hating on Kyou.

I hate being right sometimes.

At any rate, I have a bunch of fandoms that overflow with pairings I despise, but I have this neat trick I do where I don't read those posts and fics. It's amazing how well it works. I haven't read a pukeworthy pairing in ages! :O

Not surprising that I didn't care for Kyo or Yuki or however they were called, all I cared for was Hanajima/Tohru.
No, not because Hanajima said something cryptic once(it's not as if Hanajima isn't known to do that and say odd things, never!). I just find that angle the cutest.

But geez. Everyone sees there's Kyou/Tohru so...why not write it if they want? I mean...nothing bad about it. Kyou isn't a jerk! He's rash, yes, but there's worse. If I'd write fanfic again, I'd not give a damn about who likes the pairing or anything, or how often the pairing has been written. Fanfiction is not about filling quotas but writing about something you'd like to see, usually.

So, in my case, it'd totally be Hanajima/Tohru. Fully knowing it isn't even remotely in canon(well, a bit from Hana, but that's little)
