Wow. Don't even really know WHERE to begin with this one, but it's definitely wankage. Thanks to a friend on AIM for the link.

So rivalstaq apparently had some art used and animated into icons without her permission. She posts a vitriolic rant about this to gorillazslash:

I don't appreciate this nor will I allow anyone to edit and animate my work. If I wanted them to fucking MOVE I would have animated them myself. Now look, goddammit, I'm a fair person. If I draw some Gorillaz spooge infested slash porn fuckfest art I will post it for you cretins to gigglefap and make little icon faces n___n at, seriously I AM a member of this community and part of the reason I barely check it or post in it anymore is because of bullshit like this. Draw your own goddamned art and animate it so they hump and lick each other, thats not what I made those images for. I'm sure some of the other artists wouldn't give two shits about it, but I for one am peeeesssed. Don't do that. DAMMIT.

I have yet to see proof that she really is the original artist. Her profile certainly doesn't give a hint towards that. All I see is lame bambi rip-offs and a link to a DA account that's full of more pixalized art. But whatever, you're the mod, you handle it. I just hope you check the facts first.

Right on. Even if the OP is the real artist he/she/it is being a stupid ass about it. You CAN be nice and civil, you know. I find it interesting that this person addresses everyone collectively as queers (not that I mind personally, but the way it's used as an insult bothers me), yet claims to draw spoogy images of 2D taking it up the ass. Yeah, double standards anyone.

And while we're on the subject of double standards, what the fuck is wrong with you (the OP)?!? Have you guys forgotten that we're basically "art stealing" to begin with?? It's the essence of fan life to take other people's work and process it. People have taken Jamie's original artwork and changed it and nobody had a hissyfit then because it was "only" the creator. But oh no! As soon as a fan samples something by another fan it's omgtoatally teh plagiarism even though the same fucking disclaimers apply. Stop drawing *fan*art and posting it on teh intarwebs then if you don't want anyone to respond to it.

I find it a fucking disgrace how some people react in here. They all go "Oh yeah, finally someone speaks up against those horrid things! About time they shall be smitten!" You're such backstabbers, it's just sick. Get the fuck out of a fan community then. You've obviously not getting the concept of it.

Copyright is an invention of the 20th century and I truely believe that art can only blossom when artistry is owned by the people again (Henry Jenkins anyone?). Don't blow a vessel, luuuurve never claimed SHE had created the artwork, nor had she taken credit for the artwork. It's understandable the original artist might object to this kind of use of their work, albeit rather hypocritical. And since this person can't even be civil about it I say "nyatch". Go ahead and sue her for using your copyrighted imag... oops. Guess you stole the characters and art design yourself. Geeze that sucks, doesn't it. But I'm sure Jamie Hewlett doesn't object to your superior interpretation. No problem.

Luuurve, I applaud your bravado for not dashing off to delete your pictures right away. And I applaud you for not caving in and act all apologizing and remorseful either. Go you. And your animations weren't poor or stupid or anything and neither were the reactions of those who expressed they liked it. They are entitled to their opinions and to expressing them. Stop judging people!

I hope the mods step in soon. Maybe you should take down your artwork eventually, but certainly not to such a wanktastic request! There's this nifty invention called private email and human interaction, you know? I suggest you look those up in the dictionary.
