First Fables Wank!
So help me, but when I get hooked on something, the first thing I want to find out is whether its fandom has wank. I'm currently in love with DC/Vertigo's Fables and I've found me some Fables Wank.

On Fables creator Bill Willingham's official forum, a poster proposes a Fables/Captain Atom crossover. with the subtitle "If we get enough vores we might just see it." and the poll option to vote No as "I hate cool comics (that means no)."

Other posters disagree vehemently, want to know what vores are, and the OP suddenly goes, "Oh, it was just a joke!"

Then they get very wanky over what is humorous and what is not. Apparently, the "rules of humour" forbid mention of stupid crossovers.

I don't even really find it terribly wanky, but my god, the OP can't spell for shit.

The really wank stuff I found was like this.

There are different varieties of humor.

That doesn't actually fit into any possible category of humor.

Humor is funny. Humor does not mean you need to specify three pages in that it was humor and not a stupid and highly ineffective suggestion.

Combined with everyone saying that they're dropping the subject, then posting again, and again.

Posting anon because... yeah, it's just a good idea.

Well, there goes my Dead Like Me/Yami no Matsuei crossover.

No, what's bad is that I can't freaking *find* it. *headdesk* I could swear I wrote the first part of it a while back, but I can't figure out where or when to save my life.

Fables in wank?

Is it wrong that all my thoughts are "ooh, I hope this goes on for more comments than the Monkey Island wanks usually do"?

This is all a clever promotional move to get more Fables readers, of course.

Eeh. Bigby's cooler.

Of course, that could be because I got into Y: The Last man randomly near the beginning, but I wasn't close enough to the beginning for it to make sense to me. Other than Amazons chopping off breasts.

Oh dude. If at all possible, read it from the beginning. As far as I'm concerned, Y puts BKV up there amoung the great comic writers of our time.

He's back next month, if you're following the monthlies. I suppose people reading the trades will have to wait much longer. 48 and 49 are going to be all about wolves, according to Willingham: Mowgli, Bigby and ? In 48, we'll learn the cubs' names.

And issue 50 is going to be twice the size of an ordinary issue.

Yeah, I'm excited.

Yeah, I follow the single issues. I have all of them up to a few months ago. I really need to hit the comic store. I adore Bigby. Although I don't always love how he's drawn. It's more fun when he doesn't have a disappearing mouth. Stuble =/ no mouth.

He's gonna be back! So awesome.

Not knowing anything about either fandom, I thought that was what they wanted.

I figured someone named "Captain Atom" might be extremely small, in which case the vore possibilities would be endless.

There was 'cause while 50% of the Fandom loves Willingham for his work on Fables, the other 50% dispises him for his work on Robin. However, that would be Robin and Willingham-related wank. Not Fables itself.

I'm in that weird portion of fandom that adores Fables but wants to pretend that most of the work Willingham has done on the Batbooks never happened. There were actually a few good issues of Robin, but he was on it for two years(ish), and most of it was blah. Or so I hear, as I may possibly have refused to buy most of it. *cough*

We all know he can be an awesome writer. I'm excited every month when there's a new issue of Fables. But there are a few people who just shouldn't be allowed to write anything except their own original work. They do brilliantly with their own characters, it's just that they fuck up anyone else's.

Fables is so cool. No if-and-but about it. If you can, try to supress what all he hurt you with and read Fables with an open mind.

Batbooks are the mindkiller...
