Seedlings of a bigger Bleach shipping war?
In BleachForums, asam_laksa makes a thread titled "KT, Orihime deserves better" and states that Orihime needs to grow out of Ichigo's shadow and kick but-t. Quite a shift from Orihime's personality (this is a girl who cries when enemy underlings are blown up by their boss). She sounds a bit skirting the rabid side, but response is civil.

When she remarks about how IchigoxRukia fans hate Orihime because she is an obstacle, other member wonder if she's digging for drama.

Syn, an Ichigo/Rukia fan, says that it's true she's not too fond of Orihime, but not because of the pairing, and she doesn't want Orihime to be a perfect character. asam_laksa responds:

"There is nothing left more for me to say. She just proved everything that I just said.

I don't say anything just like that....

For those who pro IchiRuki or Ruki fans.....

Most of us have read the pilot manga. Most of us have read the 'theory series of concindences' that Ichigo and Inoue had being together.....

Let me tell you this. The main character here is Kurosaki Ichigo. Every main character has at least one love interest. And as much as you don't like to hear this.....Inoue Orihime is the ORIGINAL love interest KT had in mind for Kurosaki Ichigo

[snip]

Get used to Orihime, Syn. Or else better still....don't watch/read Bleach if you can't.

God knows how much I am trying to get used to Rukia in the manga.."

I can imagine the "I read shounen for the fights" fanboys collectively pull their hair and whine that the fangirls ruin their fandom. But who can blame them?
