Well, the people at the clay aiken journal on lj are back in the topics. This one, about icons! Religion! And ladies and gentlemen, you guessed it, sexual orientation!

Original post about an ebay auction.. check out the posters icon. I thought it was funny at least.. Cheeeeeeeese. Yum.

And the thread that starts it all... Some of the comments are legit but in the end, isn't the insulter... tingilya.. just trying to defend her superiority complex?

Will the Clay wanks ever end? I know I've seen a lot of them...

Oh yes. She's attacked *Nsync slashers on numerous occasions, and yet she still belongs in three *Nsync communities run by slashers. Go figure.

Being totally objective here, I think that while tingilya's got her knickers in a bunch over nothing must be those damn sacred garments*, everyone else involved in the wank should just STFU.

I mean, my icon mocks the murder of ANNE FRANK and 6 million of her best friends (plus a couple million faggots, witches, gypsies, and other "undesirables"). Compared to that, "Real Men Love Jesus" means nothing.

*sigh* Some people should just let go of their oppression complexes.

Ok, completely missing the point here. It's not that it was pro-Christian, it's that it implied (implied, heck it stated it!) that "[Only] Real men love Jesus". If guys are Christians they aren't "real men". Ting does have the right to make that statement, however she doesn't have to be so crass about it. (-->)

The wank was brought about because Tingilya then took offense to someone elses icon. Whatever crackpot ideas she has about religion and ethics apparently do not apply when communicating with eval non-belivas. Boo hoo hoo.

I definitely agree she has a point about that. Someone asking her not to use that icon is wanky. Her offense at the Real Men Love Cheeses icon is a nice wank too though. She was brilliantly mocked. LOL

Okay, on the one hand, the Real Men Love Jesus icon is a little annoying, but it's not all that offensive, IMHO, unless you're looking for shit to be offended about...and on the other hand, the Real Men Love Cheeses icon is funny, and the girl who's all pissed about it needs to get over it.

x.x I dunno, both sides look pretty wanky to me. I don't find either icon offensive--the cheese was hilarious (cause it's true, dammit! *_* worship the cheese!), and the Jesus one I just ended up dismissing in the same vein as 'my fandom...' and other 'real men...' stuff. I always found it to be something said humourously, with tongue firmly planted in cheek. The fact that Side A got worked up about the Jesus icon and that Side B took the cheese icon personally just makes me want to shake my head in exasperation and shout, 'they're just icons, people!'

I'm only supposing that the animousity for/from tingilya (... the name reminds me of that overly fruity fairy from Zelda: Wind Waker) probably dates back further into the community.

It would be so nice if the slash people could leave Clay and Ruben alone. Just... this once, give it a rest, you know? They deserve better than that. But no. People are so predictable.

It's a pattern. Tingilya joins a fandom; she finds slash; she attacks slashers. When slashers counterattack, she accuses them of meanness and intolerance of her Christianity. Things get worse from there.
