Entry tags:community: fanficrants, flouncing, shame on you dirty whores!, your kink is not okay

Threesomes for great justice!
[info]fanficrants is at it again!

alanahikarichan posts to remind the world of the existence of bisexuals and, especially, polyamorous individuals.

aquaocean disagrees:

I must be one of the people who strongly believes love, by nature, just exists between two people. Most human societies practice monogamy for reasons.

And, when challenged:

There are people who think they are capable to love multiple people but the fact is that they love no one beside themselves. These people tend to be the manipulating type who uses it to get advantage, or the ones who lack life experience to understand. That's how people break up, divorce, have unwanted kids, lose their jobs, etc.

And they're off, ladies and gentlemen!

Bonus: aquaocean is not pleased. So she takes her toys and wanks on at home. Waking in the Dark, or Wanking in the Dark? You decide.

I've come to the conclusion that this place is filled with kids who barely or just hit twenty but think they're too old, wise and knowledgable.

Note: I don't know how old aquaocean is, and she doesn't list it anywhere on her user info page. People hope she's a teenager, but that would ruin our fun, wouldn't it? Edit: She apparently attends UC Berkeley, so we should be safe.

ETA: *Someone* baaaahleeeted all her comments, yes, yes she did.

BRIDE OF ETA: AAAAW. Her widdle feelings were hurt. Thanks [info]homasse and helpful anonymouse!

Aquaocean mentions going to UC Berkeley in her userinfo, so I think we're in the clear age-wise.

And I'm used to the Christians calling me an abomination against nature and all that, but when it's coming from someone who's a yaoi fangirl and ships incest pairings, I just can't take it seriously.

Well, consider the analogy between a lock and your heart. The lock has only one keyhole to fit for one key and it's impossible to jam two keys into it. If you want to put in another key, the only way to do it is remove the old key. People can move on and love another but they can't love multiple people at the same time.

Awwww, dat's show shweeeeet!

What a dumbass thing to say. Are we in the third grade? Are we writing bad 80s love ballads?

Dear Wanker,

Plz to be noticing that most human societies have, at one time or another, practiced polygamy (usually polygyny). And also plz to be noting that monogamy is really hard even in societies that reinforce it, because it's not really all that natural.

Love,
The anthro major who'd be more coherent if she hadn't just spent 3 hours cataloguing a bunch of serial monogamists, and is now going back to the !Kung, where her kind are appreciated.

aquaocean says I'm 99.99% sure that I will NOT change my opinion when it comes to the impossibility of the existence of love between more than two people.

Ok, I wanna know how the heck she knows about me and my husband, because we really do love each other, and if she says only two people are capable of love then she must mean us.

Ok, all idiocy aside, I've never seen a more blatant case of someone saying "I refuse to believe the facts in front of my eyes" than this. I mean, here is someone SAYING she loves two people at the same time equally. Either aquaocean thinks alanahikarichan is lying or aquaocean thinks that she can feel alanahikarichan's emotions and therefore can make a judgement about their validity.

People like aquaocean really disturb me because for them, there IS no reality check. No amount of evidence or reason will ever sway them from believing what their wishful thinking say is true.

Most human societies practice monogamy for reasons.

Sorry, bitch, take an anthropology class next time. I believe the figure cited for polygamous societies (number-wise, not percentage-of-total-practicing-people) was at or over 70% of all current societies.

Yeah, the whole insistance that love is *ONLY between two people is downright silly (I love me some Kingdom Hearts threesome too), but I also can't help but be annoyed at the people going "Oh, you silly child with your delusions. Of course monogamy doesn't work, and you'd know that if you were experienced."

How about they can both be fine under different circumstances, kay?

Love, I find, is a very unsuitable word. We use it for a host of different emotions relating to attachment, and so getting into arguments over what is and isn't love is useless, because we use it to describe so many things.

I mean, this girl loves her mother, right? She consideres this a valid type of love? So now she loves one person, so she can't feel attached to anyone else? You can be attached to many people, and while the feelings may be different, due to the inefficiency of the human language they're all considered love.

I'm not even into relationships (me and person start emotionally draining each other after approx. three days) and I seem to've developed sort of a the-more-the-merrier attitude to casual romance... but of course, I've "barely hit twenty" and I'm oh so very confused. Surely Mrs. Internet Shrink should help me out!

So, if you can love your parents and your siblings and God because that doesn't involve sex, where does that leave her incest pairings?

And what about freaks like me who love more than one person so much that it hurts, but have zero interest in having sex with anyone?  Does that make me even more special, or do I not know the meaning of true love because I don't dish out the hot sex?
