Mild "The Princess Diaries" wankage on IMDB
luvsparty1216 posts an innocent question on The Princess Diaries message board on the Internet Movie Database, asking what the "green thing" was that Mia ate for dinner during a scene in the movie.

Startanew replies that it is Sorbet, but then AnneHathawaylover answers that "i think it might be mint because it gets rid of the taste of the corse before that so it might be i dont know but when i go to dinners like that it si mint"

gingersnaps1 then posts "from the looks of your grammer, it doesn't look like you would go to a dinner that would have that particular course."

gingersnaps1 also goes on to state how her five-year-old attends etiquette classes at the Ritz Carlton.

The thread quickly goes into wank about why gingersnaps1 would want to send her 5-year-old to etiquette classes.

My favourite comment? When curlyQ379-1 asks gingersnaps1 "if your thirty or so, how come your on a message board for the princess diaries?"

The thread can be found here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247638/board/nest/33626486

Well, at least it makes a change from HP wank.

Why do I get the feeling that everyone here is below the FW cut-off age?

Or is that just wishful thinking?

I'm sure that there's a universe where that makes sense, but it sure as hell isn't this one.

That confused the heck out of me. Considering how sorbet is an icy little dessert, and mint is either a candy or...well, leafy, wouldn't it be easy to tell the difference?

While I am a big fan of starting kids on etiquette as soon as they start eating (not for the babies' sake, but so the parents get used to repeating the same instructions over and over again with no noticable effect), isn't that something you're supposed to do at home? So it becomes second nature to the child?

Ahh, Princess Diaries.. I've actually read every one of those books. They're cute. The films suck, naturally, but the author herself mocked them in the books so it's cool.

I must be deranged because I always get these insane fic ideas from the books that would fuck with every little Princess Diaries-fan out there. Like, femslashy plot bunnies or Mia/Boris. If I wrote them and posted on FFnet, it might create some *real* wank.

General dining Wank Etiquette

I. Do not talk with your mouth full [with a random BNF's e-cock.].

II. Start eating hot food calling out either: "Plagiarism!", "homophobe", an-emo-best-reserved-for-personal-blog Significant Moment or a choice assortment of completely OT insults when the wank is served, do not wait for everyone else to begin.

III. It is proper to tip a soup bowl slightly completely go on a tangent, throw hissy fits, or stalk via sockpuppets to get all of the soup wank.

IV. Do not ask for a doggy bag unless it is an informal dining situation, therefore allowing yourself to backpedal like woah and hide behind the "No substantial evidence!" tag when drawn to responsibility.

V. Do not smoke [crack] at the table keyboard without consequently writing a tragic post on all your irrelevant life principles, grudges and drama on a public forum.

VI. Do not ask to taste someone else's food wank. Similarly, do not offer a taste of your food wank to someone else. Think, instead, of the people on [info]fandom_wank, who get a royal feast with a doubled number of courses.

VII. For soup well-bred wank, dip the spoon into the soup bullshit accusations from the edge of the bowl opposing-BNF-faction to the center, moving away from you. Only fill pursue it 3/4 full to avoid spilling being too blatant in digging their e-graves. Do not insert the whole bowl of the spoon any grains of Earth Logic into your mouth Responding Speech of Woeful Indignation, lest it become a habit and damage the integrity of your wank.

VII. If soup wank is too hot to eat, let it cool in bowl agressive, inflamatory post. Do not blow on it [by offering well-merited and sincere apologies]. Instead, prepare your grudge-filled reply.

...oh, I should think all our wank-producers have been very Etiquette-obliging.

[And while completely OT : wasn't it either mint sorbet or glace, and got served after distinctly spicy/aromatic foods? *considers*]

"I think all grammar (spelled it right this time) and etiquette really goes out the door."

I'm not going to even start on that sentence's atrocious grammar. I hate to sound like a pretentious git, but if this woman were of a social standing which allowed her to put on such airs she'd know that etiquette and politeness are ALWAYS to be employed.

Her grammar and spelling are laughable throughout the entire thread. What a tool.

The IMDB boards are wanky by default, I think. I'm surprised they weren't fighting over the actress's, people usually only want to discuss that there.

Ah, this reminds me of a reviewer for our TV guide. Obviously s/he doesn't do research, OR finishes the movie:
"Oh, and there were no diaries in this movie at all. Perhaps the title is a reference to Princess Di?"

Needless to say, I'm SERIOUSLY questioning the intelligence of that reviewer.
