Yes, Supernatural fandom, we have arrived!

I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, but some panties are certainly in a bunch.

So first traveller makes a filtered post (since unlocked) about fandom politics, and her distate thereof. I tried reading the whole thing, but the lack of capital letters hurt my brain, so here's the gist of it:


today i made a reading filter to exclude exactly one person. she told me she was adding me as a "handshake gesture" because we were both so important to fandom that our perceived feud (there was no feud, there was just a whole lot of me not caring about her opinions, her fic, or her - as lalas would say, i had no opinion on rob zombie) and she suggested that i do the same in return in order to demonstrate to our multitudes that look, we've got a détente, we've got perestroika and the START treaty, look. although, she added, it was fine with her if i didn't add her back, but she was going to do her part for the good of the fandom .

And:

in the end, as much as it made my teeth hurt to do it, i added her back. and today, i filtered her out.

we don't have much at all in common. we can barely exchange three civil sentences. we don't agree on... just about anything. i don't enjoy her posts. i don't enjoy her stories. why are we DOING this? is she right? are people so weak minded that the very idea that two so-called BNFs don't like each other is going to lead to some kind of great meltdown? whatever happened to just... live and let live?

I was completely genuine when I told you I wanted to get along. I, unlike you, am a genuine person who expresses honest feelings and don't feel the need to make myself feel better by belittling others. As a matter of fact, that type of behavior is disgusting and reprehensible. If you wanted to upset me, you win.
