Bangel v. Spuffy. Wank, rinse, repeat

Thought Bangel v. Spuffy was soooooo 2003? You'd be wrong. Granted, this is not a raging wank with foaming at the mouth and gnashing of teeth, but all in all, entertaining just for the sheer "People are STILL wanking about this? Seriously?" aspect of it.

It starts when buffy4angel4eva posts this gem on The Spuffy Realm tagboard: Spuffy is the worst relationship on Buffy ever! Angel left Buffy coz he said she should be with someone who could take her into the light. Spike in all his stupidity said she belonged in the darkness. He isn't good for her and someone who loved her wouldnt do that. Plus he nearly raped her. FREAK!!



We then have mooning emoticons, the "nuh-uh" response of And like Angel never raped anyone before. That had to be the worst relationship ever. Spike is way better for her, and several more emoticons that I just don't understand (GTFO? Go the fuck... what? I obviously don't understand the complexity of emoticons).

Other choice bits include:

Whitelighter354: AND.. Spike won. He beat Angel to the cup! And is certainly the better vampire! (Uhm, he won a cup of Mountain Dew. So Mountain Dew = better vampire? Gotcha.)

Kar: If we fell in love with the same person, the world would be... different. It's the same thing. There are certain characteristics that we find attractive. (I don't get this one. At all.)

LoobyLoo: i disagree.....Buffy and angel are against all the laws of man and nature! He has sticky up hair and wears lifts in his shoes...see, i'm being real mature about it! (Ahhh, the failed attempt at... something. I don't know, the stupid confuses me)

Blazing Fire: There's so much chemistry between Spike and Buffy, you could almost taste it. (I don't think I would want to taste that chemistry. Blood and stale cigarette smoke just doesn't appeal to me)

spuffette (in one of her many long, rambling statements): I don't know how old you are and I might be old enough to be your mother, really. It must be nearly impossible to be a young person nowadays with all of the mess going on in the world. I have always tried to see the positive/loving relationship that Spuffy could and should have been so this helps me explain it to people who don't feel the same way. To me, Buffy is a heroine and Spike is her hero or champion. Their relationship is not sick or sadistic, to me, it's love in its most epic sense. How can a man(vampire) who would risk his very existence for the woman he loves be wrong, or nasty or sick? How could a woman who learns to trust and love a being like Spike and risk everything to help him survive be sick or wrong?

Since it's on a Spuffy site and all occurs on a tagboard, there are no rabid Bangel fans defending their beloved pairing. Also, it's very small (minute, one might say) and possibly doesn't bring the wank fit for fandom_wank. But what the hell, I'll delete if necessary.
