"Too Furry for Y-Gallery" Y-Gallery has decided to oust the furries. Reactions vary. There is the expected outrage. Spike31: Just leave my two cents before I start yanking art work =P One, if there's such a massive shift in art interest, should that tell people something? If the people who are into yaoi are becoming such a 'minority' doesn't that say something about the interest of artists on the site? If the site suddenly switched focus more on...I dunno...Yu-Gi-Oh! fanart porn or whatever starts flooding in and making other topics a 'minority', would that get banned too? Two, WHY is furry considered so different? It's not the worst thing on earth! And, if you don't like it, here's an idea...DON'T LOOK AT IT! Most of the time you can tell when an artist or club is geared towards furry. Just don't watch them, or turn on that filter, it's what's it there for!! *I* don't want to see human-themed porn, but I don't complain about it; and I know I'm not the only one, because I have seen a request for a human-theme-filter more than once. And last, do you really think the furry artists are going to place their art in the 'Extras' section? No. That's like letting it be posted, but swept under the rug at the same time. There are lots of amazing artists that won't be able to show their work here anymore. And why does this whole thing cause such a problem? The ToS was set down, with those criteria of an anthro, and we abided by them. But now it makes yaoi the 'minority.' Yeah... Oh, and on the heels of the 'DeviantArt Y!-gallery' fiasco...nice move =P Anyway, nice while it lasted. Voices of reason. AngryPuppy: Let's say for example that there were an anthro-themed site that allowed occasional posting of human arts (with the obvious thought by the site creators that some people may draw both and this option would hardly ever be used because there are human-themed galleries to post it in). Let's say there was a sudden flood of artists who only posted human arts, and they started taking over that site which had not been created for that purpose. you're saying the site's owners and moderators should just be like "oh, well, because our site's being taken over by another group of people, we'll keep working hard and paying to support something that brings us no particular joy and is totally not what we intended to make." Do you really think the furry community would take that view of it? "Oh well!" Of course not. Fangirl relief. Clonv3: :hearts: Mods for caring enough to make this site possible and do the best you can, over and over, no matter how much people complain. Not many people have that kind of dedication. On a more focused note, this site WAS founded as a haven for the yaoi artists, specifically away from DA, and there are already many furry art sites out there. Fangirl irreverence. yukitok: *waves happily* Bye bye Furries. Giving Animals HUMAN characteristics...*shakes head* poor animals. And so much more! Fun for everyone and guaranteed to grow. Yaoi? Yiff? Hell, it all starts with Y and ends in Spooge. Edit: Don't forget to stop by the Anthro Development Club for more furry fun. Edit #2: Snover addresses the issue and people are still wanking. |
