LUSH wank with a little BPAL on the side
On the Lush forums, the ladies interrupt their discussion of soap to out an apparently notorious troll who has created a new account. Pilotkitten, aka PK, aka Mrs. Murphy seems to be persona non grata among the Lushites. Gioia asks for the backstory "before making a judgment about whether Mrs. Murphy is a 'bad guy'".

After much discussion about how annoying the forum search engine is, someone finally points us in the direction of one of the alleged troller's "greatest hits" (apparently they have spoiler threads for soap catalogs). PK shows up as "Guest" because she has since deleted that account, but it seems there was some controversy about the phrase "peace pipe" and PK piped up that she wasn't offended and ZOMG! she's part Cherokee so if she's okay with it it must be fine! There are some other good bits in that discussion (including someone who would like a Communion wafer bath bomb that turns the bath red, a la transubstantiation) interspersed with comments from members who'd rather get back to talking about soap. Apparently one of the issues people have with PK is that she may or may not have sold some fake BPAL oils. And then we get an idea of the REAL disagreement.

But look, way back in January PK/pilotkitten/whoever posted a review of the Lush forums on another site. The Lushites take their party to this site and stir up trouble with the forum moderator.

PK/Mrs. Murphy is also, apparently, a weapons afficionado, as evidenced by her membership in the GlockTalk forums.

And now, a guest appearance by The Stink, trying to claim that s/h/it's forum is not a haven for trolls. In a later post, The Stink mentions a call to some Internet Lawyers.

To top off all of the other indignities, it appears that Mrs. Murphy has, HORRORS!,
stolen someone's avatar!

It goes on and on for 14 pages, but in a fitting climax allidavie expresses her disgust with the whole situation and threatens to leave the forum while claiming "this is not a flounce."

Giggly13, one of the Lush forum mods, tries to throw some water on the fire,

There's an entire forum for soap? And it's has trolls?

WTF?

Soap wankery, it's not just for real life anymore.

Not just a forum. It's a full-fleged fandom/fetish. You should see what happens when the yearly discontinued products list comes out. I think the company bigwigs sit around trying to figure out which products will cause the most hand-wringing and intense hoarding if listed as discontinued.

Thank you for outlining WTF was going on here. I've been lurking on that forum for years now and I had no goddamn clue what any of them were talking about. And all this froth without anybody having lost money or goodies. The righteous indignance at play here boggles the mind.

Lush wank--same as BPAL wank, except wanking about soap is lamer! ♥ ♥ ♥

And after having read through almost the whole damn thing, I'm still not sure why they're all so outraged.

I love reading the Lush forums because everyone gets so bent out of shape about bath products. The current complaint is over the prevalence of citrus scents. Gosh, maybe that's because summer is coming up?

I love Lush products, but they do attract the same wanky devotees as BPAL.

You know, I love Lush products and this is one occasion where it's an advantage to be a Brit - their stuff is no higher priced than Body Shop and nicer, plus I have plenty of stores fairly locally to play in without getting involved in the wesite which is, IMO, fugly and over-priced for shipping.

But forums? Really? Lordy...

I have seen terms like "Recruit," "Special Agent," etc. used on an "Alias" board, which is also a bit goofy but does at least have something to do with the subject of conversation. Is there a link here's I'm missing?
