prongssr is ”sick of the hypocrisy and the repetitions of ”We just don't like Ginny because she is undeveloped, mean, and spiteful”. and states that people saying: People who hate Ginny don't hate her because of shipping are WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!!!


She quotes several Ginny-bashing lines she found on ARGH on FAB, supporting her argument that:

“You cannot tell me or anyone else with a straight face that most (the great majority) of the anti-HG are not disgruntled shippers. I'm sorry, but this doesn't work anymore. We know (and apparently JKR) knows that this is in fact, true.”

Her conclusion seems to be:

“ It's time for the anti-HG to face the truth; the truth is that you ARE effected by shipping and everyone knows this to be true. It is time to stop whining and admit defeat. [sic] The Ginny hate is a complete waste of time because, if you don't accept Ginny as a positive character and H/G, you are going to have a meltdown after book seven is complete. ”

Of course, a lot of people agree and ”It's completely colored by shipping” is mentioned.

tunxeh chimes in with a rather sane “Well, but correlation ≠ causation — they could prefer other ships because of their dislike for Ginny, rather than vice versa.” and go_back_chief adds in with a good analogy “ You can find correlation between lots of things, if you look for it. For instance, most men have bigger feet than women, and most men also get higher salary than women, so that's a correlation. However, you'd be pretty hard-pressed if you were to argue that men get higher salary because they have bigger feet, or vice versa. ;-)”.

But since it’s HP and shipping, people are bound to disagree with the OP and her ‘you just hate Ginny because of shipping”. musouka_manga asks “ So does that mean the only reason people like Ginny is because Harry wants to do her?”. prongssr replies and the wank is off.
