Lee/Kara 'shipper writes vicious Dee bash fic with racist overtones.

No one is amused.

ETA: And we have BALEETION! Too bad it's come a little too late.

"Chocolate Princess?" I don't think I've ever heard a BSG character ever refer to anyone by skin color, only planetary origin. (If Kara were of a mood to be racist, she would've called her "Sagittaronian Princess"

Blood smeared the surface in a glory arc as Dee went down. Again. Kara couldn’t suppress a bark of pure Starbuck-laughter.


Taking a cue from [info]xero_sky on this one: I don't know a damn thing about this fandom but I damn sure know that this Dee person is black, thanks [info]hell_of_fire!

What was the purpose of mentioning her skin? Why didn't she mention the other characters skin? What does her skin have to do with the fic at all?


Hell of fire: I didn't intend them to be anywhere near rasist or anything, I swear. I think neither toffee, barbies (as I said below, I love Barbies), chocolate nor Princesses are anything bad. I think both terms -can- be used in a loving way as well.

I totally agree! I know whenever I refer to people as colored, chink, wop, or honky I always say it with kissy lips. :>

Not in the fandom (liked the old BG), but I have to say the most annoying/amusing thing is the way the author keeps insisting that people don't get it -- that her story's deep and everyone's too dumb to see past the crap writing, disturbing anger toward a fictional character, and racism to the real meaning of the story.

Er, no. We do get it. There's not much there to get, and it's easily gotten. It's not deep, and it is disturbing, racist and crap writing. There is no meaning past that.

The fic is racist and the OP needs to leave Dualla alone. Lee and Kara are too passive-aggressive about their feelings to act on them. You can't blame Dualla, Anders or Dr. Crazy for that. Plus I don't really see Kara having dreams about beating the crap out of Dualla, she'd be more likely to dream about Dualla and/or Lee beating her up.
