We have isolated the wank gene... So yeah, I walked out of X-men 3 during the credits and missed a scene and thus went looking for what happened...but found wank instead. And so I bring you one regular wank and one very small but funny wank. ***Both with spoilers*** First on the superherohype boards Catman posts a thread about a line Juggernaut has in the movie which was taken from a popular internet dub of the old cartoons. Everything goes fine until Shadowboxing calls it juvenile and the wank slowly builds, scattered through the next 10 or so pages. Victor Creed: Actually it was quite funny. Apparently you are far too mature for anything but a serious look at the X-World. Maybe one day they will make an X-Men special on PBS and you will be pleased. Shadowboxing: Not really, it's still juvenile to add to a movie and speaks loads about the writers. Anyone who finds drivel like that funny probably also thinks "American Pie" is better than "Young Frankenstein". Zer00: Juvenile? Low brow humor yes. Juvenile yes. And how does it speak loads about the writers when they didn't write the line. So yes that must mean everyone but you and 3 other people find AP better than the classic Young Frankenstien. Yay you're big grown man. growl. Get off your tower. Stop acting like you're better because you don't find something funny. Shadowboxing: No you're right its a lets all laugh at a dirty word we've all heard a million times before thread. I see it more as a "look a the massive failure we are at education human beings thread". [my thoughts: What the hell does that line in the quotes mean? I'm so confoosled...] Victor Creed: Call Marsden, I am sure he would love to hear about your very serious input for a potential Cyclops: The Man Without Humor movie. [Props.] Shadowboxing: Humor is only funny when it's intelligent or worked in with intelligent things. "Young Frankenstein" has slapstick and scatalogical humor just like any other comedy, but the difference is the script is solid, the actors are solid and the movie is built upon a stable foundation. If you took away all the big penis jokes the characters would still be amusing and memorable. Here in X3 all they did was attach a dirty word in there like a five year old who waits until the teacher is not looking and then whispers "b*tch" to all his 5 year old friends. Zer00: No it's ****ing not. Do you teach at a clown college? No? ...It's one line. It's not even overly comical yet you still have to put on a sash and march around. My god man. And once again, it's not funny because of the word *****. It's never been why it's funny. It's just so ridiculous. Get over yourself. And stop acting like you're speaking for every person on the planet. Blade_fan1911: Jesus, if you're such an intellectual then go read a book and leave us monkey's here. I could care less if you didn't find it funny or think it's stupid, but that fact that you keep insulting everyone's intelligence who think it's funny is very childish. Shadowboxing: I do read books while I post thank you. I don't think people who find it funny are stupid, but if you think its the funniest thing ever and deserves to be put in a movie you need to get out more. [I often find it hard to read books while I post.] [somehow things move into talk on the Beatles which turns into a possible tl;dr that's basically "I'm making unusually far fetched references to sound more intelligent so I can argue against a line in a comic book movie."] Shadowboxing: No the Beatles are genius. I hate things that are stupid or pointless or meaningless. Lincoln was a great President, the Beatles are a great band, and Schindler's List was a great movie. On the other hand LBJ is highly underrated and everyone (who has no studied him) has misinformed opinions about him, the band Coldplay is highly overrated and Star Wars got shafted by the academy. Sometimes the public is right, sometimes they are sadly mistaken. Information thats presented to you in TV and movies (which largely formulates everyone's opinions) is catered to fit a pre-programed view of the world. For example it's easier to make news out of corruption than it is to make news out of good samaritains. It's easier to make TV shows about quirky and tumultuous relationships than stable ones, etc. Sometimes these viewpoints are correct, sometimes not. Its all situational. [there are also the cunt, idiot, and prick insults slung through the pages...and Page 12 has quite a bit'o'wank.] And a very small wank on the yahoo! board for the movie, which made me laugh a good deal. (There are spoilers in this link also.) Shakeshm posts about a scene which he didn't like because of a voice over by R. Lee Ermey. Replies include "you know nothing about movies," pointless insults, and two explanations of the difference between Drill Sergeants and Marine Corps Drill Instructors...I'm not totally sure why the last part is so important to X3, go figure. |
