Suikoden LJ RPG Wank
Been awhile since we heard from the Suikoden camp (small as they may be) and then a mouse-friend pointed this out:

There is an LJ RPG called [info]suiko_rpg as far as LJ-based Suikoden RPGs go, it's the biggest and also the most out of character. But that's neither here nor there...

Seems a few days ago, [info]quatrina posted a crazy flame laced rant about how there are too many plots and she's been around longer than most and she's going to do her plot no matter what!!!

The denizens agree and disgree and its civil for the most part...

Then along comes [info]chronomadic who isn't even part of the RPG but can't help to voice his/her opinion.... Complete with paint cartoon

People go nuts.

Paint cartoons somehow make everything more wanky. It's like saying, "I don't care enough about your drama to boot up PhotoShop. I'm going to mock you via the medium of ragged lines. It is the best you deserve."

Hello, long-time member, first-time poster here....
And the member who voiced this complaint, kat, isn't even active. From what I've seen she only really posts every couple of months or so. What do you care, kat?

So wait...someone who isn't an active member, who hasn't even posted before, complains that someone else can't have an opinion because they're not active enough? There's a winner...not to even mention the fact that they spent time drawing out an argument in paint.

BTW-what's on the shirt of the character labeled "you"? One misplaced boob, the letters "coo" and an odd penis?

The best I could determine was "L Coo J", like LL Cool J, only not. But that doesn't make any sense. ...Maybe it's supposed to be LJ? But that doesn't explain the "coo".

I give up.

My own pet theory is that it's supposed to be a scrambled "OOC LJ" meaning this is someone that is actually a member of the RP, that just has never posted to the OOC journal before.

I don't care if it doesn't make sense.

No, that actually makes sense to me. I'm not sure why OOC would be written backward, but who can every fully understand wank?

(Also, Nick and Nora love!)

Wow, an rpg I used to be in got wanked...

It seems to me like quatrina had a good point in her rant, even if it did come off pretty harsh in places.

Indeed. Usually the fandom keeps its wank locked up. I'm surprised to see it out in the open like this.

Yeah, K'Arthur... someone who isn't the original poster, who didn't flame back, and isn't responsible to originating or contributing to any of the wank... is so obviously a wank magnet.

Try again, mouse. I've got some nice cheese for you between my toes if you win.

I can allow this guy to have an opinion and put it in - just about, since he's a lurker and has no stake in things. But to then make a wanky comic about it which has nothing to do with anything, really? I think he's more worthy of being ignored than the OP.

The wank is so small and furry. And the OP gave up so quickly...

But the recent post on his/her lj about immortality though comic book creation? hilarious!

Wow, and I was expecting a wank about character pairings. With 108 some odd characters, and that's just on your side, there's bound to be plenty of ruffled feathers. I'm proud of my fandom *tear*

108 per game, even! Maybe that's the issue, though - there are just too many pairings for any of them to gain a really sizeable following.

Which is a pity. There should be more Kika/Sigurd/Hervey piratey threesomes going on.

Suiokden mouse here...
Flik/Viktor seems to be pretty popular in general (it's hard to find 'fic of those characters that doesn't have them romantically involved), and Chris/Hugo is bizarrly popular among the Suikofic writers who post on ffnet.

Keep your eyes peeled in a couple weeks or so. I know someone who'll be posting a Chris/Hugo parody on ffnet, so if there's pairing wank to be had, that will probably trigger it.

Ah, I'd be surprised. Chris/Hugo is popular, now that you mention it, but the fans seem pretty rational overall. And the Suikoites take parodies pretty well, I find.

Culgan/Seed is pretty popular, too, in some corners (and it even has one of those funny squished pairing names- CulSee!) Ye gods, that was my first ever OTP. *reminisces*

And, surprisingly, Luca/Kinnison is also fairly popular (or at least, it was). And Flik/Jess. And, for some reason, Gremio/Grenseal.

Oh, oh, and Viktor/Shu!

God, the memories...

...What? WHY?. Having not been part of the fandom, the popular pairings strike as a little....odd.

Well, to be perfectly honest, I suppose they're not 'popular' in the normal sense of the word. The majority of the fics were probably written by a group of fewer than ten people.

But some of that yaoi was damn good stuff. (In my memory, anyway, which also likes those little stories about Draco Malfoy by Cassie Claire.)

Wait, Luca Blight/Kinnison? I have a hard time imagining shipping him with anyone, but why Kinnison? How would that even go?

Kinnison: You are so beautiful, Luca. Like these peaceful woods.
Luca: Die, pig, die. *kills Kinnison and his little dog too*

Um, more like:

Kinnison: You are so beautiful, Luca. Like these peaceful woods.
Luca: I WILL RAPE YOU AND THEN FEEL DEEPLY TERRIBLE ABOUT IT INSIDE.
Jillia: You should be nicer to Kinnison, Luca!
Luca: HERE, KINNISON. HAVE SEVERAL PRESENTS. INCLUDING MY BALLS.
Kinnison: Yay!

But you got the opening line right!

Luca/Kinnison~ ♥

Of course, all the pairings were from a small group of...oh...6 people co-writing and rping together, but it was so much fun to read!

Oh, sure. I'm probably exaggerating rather, since I was only really in the fandom at all before Suikoden 3, back when relatively few people had heard of it.

Still, for only six people, the yaoi side of that fandom sure felt dominated at times.

(Not in a bad way. I used to read those fics obsessively. They were like my crack before I discovered the larger and more addictive crack called HP Fandom!)

Ahahaha! Another for the Luca/Kinni team! ♥

Yeah, we were really productive in the days, so it's not a big surprise~ Now, we're all just doing our own stuff in different fandoms. Growing older and being busy at school/work makes it difficult. :(

(The HP fandom hurts a lot sometimes though. All those wanks make me glad I'm rather passive in that community and just reading whatever meets my standards.)

Not only is it 108 not counting characters who aren't among the stars per game, but characters from different games actually have a plausible chance of meeting.
