Many thanks to the two anons over on wank_report for this one!

Vozhd7 posts the following to Metaquotes:

So true!

"Harry Potter Fandom people are delusional sickos with empty lives and empty souls, who should be taken out of the public circle and have treatment forced upon them until they can return back to society as normal, functional people.

Harry Potter Fandom is a greater public health danger than the spread of crystal meth."

Quote by yobachi2003 in a blog_sociology thread.

Much merriment ensues. HP fandomers agree. Surprise is declared at the assertion that they actually have souls. Many add ‘empty souls’ to their interests.

Vozdh7 then expresses displeasure at a non-related Metaquotes post about how employees should be allowed to punch asshole customers, and at being chastised by a mod, and provides fun for all:

"You're just jealous because my metaquote got over 100 comments and yours was virtually ignored."

Small but delightful. Enjoy!

And considering that it's contrary to Metaquotes' rules to quote yourself, then he wasn't even actually funny. He was copying and pasting someone else's funny. That wasn't actually funny.

Oh yeah, his penis is huge.

Threads in the last link = A+++ Yay Sternel and Eleventh Guard for seeing through to the REAL reason.

(Because I MUST be Too Serious on F_W, I hate when the entire fandom gets compressed down into the NC-17 slashers.)

Although I'd wager at least a few people looked at my post with 150 comments and thought "awesome, this person wins at metaquotes".

Perhaps, but when they see vozhd7's LJ with the pretentious profile, lack of friends and emo tl;dr entries, they go on to think "but this person so sucks at life".

A primary hobby I have is electronic surveillance. I just love spying on people with phone taps or room bugs and intercepting information I'm not supposed to know. I find my fellow human beings so interesting and love them all, and just building the circuits is a fun hobby in itself.

I never get the people who say the account is crazy because "people in the HP fandom can't tell fiction from reality" - or, in this case, "I'd think an historian was normal fro writing something like this, but 'I'm not always so sure about folks who get this enmeshed in fictional characters.'" Um? Are MsScribe, Heidi, Imogen, &c. fictional characters? What?

Dude, sticks doesn't even begin to cover it. And how, exactly, do they reach the conclusion that fen can't tell the difference between reality and fantasy? Fantasy wouldn't be nearly as much fun if it weren't a break from reality. And getting that from charlottenox's research on msscribe is just bizarre... if anything, that absolutely blows a whole in the concept that fen can't tell the difference. The whole thing was about revealing a fraud. The comparison with obscure academic areas was a good one. Imagine if a professor decided to bolster his theory by attacking himself with pseudonyms who put up strawman objectives, thereby showing that the theory can take any abuse thrown at it, and...

Well, it works.

People who don't get fandom really sound like idiots when they try to discuss it, don't they?

And I would think that someone doing web sociology would find this manipulation of communities interesting. Anyone doing abnormal web psychology--if there is such a thing--would also find it an interesting case study.

:eyeroll:

Vozhd is a Russian cultural concept of a father-leader who would protect the country and inspire it to great things.

Or it's a relatively obscure creature from Vampire: The Masquerade.

I wonder which our boy means.
