	I also love how s/he complains about the fact that "Girl isn't one of their songs, why use it?" Uhm... Am I the only person who's ever heard of a cover song? I guess this completely negates the validity of Tori Amos' Strange Little Girls because, you know, she didn't actually WRITE any of the songs! *GASP!* (Reply to this)(Thread)

*grins* Well, if it's good enough for Mr. Lennon... No, I like the Monkees, they're good clean fun. They've got a really trippy track on the Vanilla Sky soundtrack that I love. I'm afraid I don't know much more about them other that soundtrack and when VH1 did an all-day marathon of their TV show. It's just too, too easy to make the pot-shots at them, though, and I can never pass it up... (Oh, and RE my spelling: that band that John Lennon was in... 	I guess this completely negates the validity of Tori Amos' Strange Little Girls... I think it was the "muzzy wrongheadedness" and "lack of subtlety and inspiration" that negated Strange Little Girls, but maybe that's just me. Loved all those pics of Tori in various girl drags, tho. Heh. Actually, Strange Little Girls is one of the Tori Amos albums I never bought. I kind of went through a "Tori" phase, where I bought every CD of hers that came out for a few years, and even though I still listen to them a lot, I've never really been possessed by the urge to buy a new CD. Huh. Wow. After all that random information that you didn't need to know, I was going to insert a witty comment or self-depricating remark, but I can't seem to. 	IMO, Scarlet's Walk is worth coming back for. It's a smoother sound overall than I generally associate with Tori, but the songs are as thoughtful and lovely and complex as her best work. *runs away before someone notices she's not being witty or mocking at all* (Reply to this)(Parent)

Ah, crazed Monkees fans. Gotta love 'em. And you'll find them ALL at alt.music.monkees. ;) They'll keep giving us the wank forever--even after the Monkees themselves are dead. Oh yeah. Some will drift off because there won't be any gossip about who's fucking who (honestly, there are hot young studs who don't get talked about and argued over HALF as much as Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz.), but there will always be few die hard asshats. And even then, the ghost of Peter Tork will haunt them and say, "Dude--shut the fuck up already! We're fucking dead!"
