Comic Book Reviewers Duke it Out! Film at nine!
Hannibal Tabu writes The Buy Pile, a weekly column of comic reviews. A fan who calls himself The Last Great Comics Fan doesn't like it. To give you a picture of the Last Great Comics Fan, here's his blog manifesto.

The Last Great Comics Fan:
A one-man BS Brigade, providing the smackdown of opinionated logic whenever needed. Note: As I say in about every other post, I don't bother to spell check. What I write is, for better or worse, what you see and as I see it. If you want spell check go to Newsarama. Ha! I made a funny! Seriously though, it's the friggen internet. If you want clean copy you'll have to pay me for it.

So the man wrote an entry
about Hannibal Tabu, which included such choice bits as

"I thought I'd talk a bit about Hannibal Tatu's The Buy Pile, yet another regular review column where yet another wannabe journalist (or is it has been journalist? I can never for the life of me keep these things straight) tells us why he didn't like this book or why X-Writer is his "absolute fave of all time OMG ponies! he's like the bestest!" (Note: Not a direct quote.)"
and

"The hypocrasy is staggering! He claims that he makes a living reviewing other people's work and that they, the writers and artists that he casually drops shit all over, shouldn't be so sensitive because if gas wasn't so expensive he may have brought their book home despite it having nothing very worthwhile, as discerned while flipping through in the store. And yet, when they
'misunderstand' his review based on their own cursory samples of his work he shits himself in an editorial longer than his entire column about how he's not all that bad."
Hannibal Tatu sees this, and posts a a retort on his MySpace.

"First of all, apparently this guy (who calls himself "Comics Last Great Fan" [sic], and who we'll call "CLGF" from here on out) doesn't have the best reading comprehension in the world, because despite the fact that my name is spelled correctly no fewer than two times on the page, he still manages to get it wrong. I've seen that typo before, which boggles me since "B" and "T" are three rows away from one another on your average keyboard. But if we're gonna get caught up on the little points, we'll never get to the real meat of the matter."
The meat of the matter is that CLGF is a jerk, and he can't spell either. Tabu goes on to correct the Last Great Fan on the latter's assumption that Tabu professionally reviews comics by standing in front of the comic stand in his local store for a few hours.

The Great One is not abashed. All his blog entries since have been about Tabu and Tabu's fans.

Tabu's 'apprentice' emails the Great One to call him a jerk and say he's just jellus.

Tabu writes the Great One an email. He retaliates by calling him Hanibal Batu.

The Great One calls his opponent Bahinal AtBu and argues his grammar is just fine!

My Spelling errors aren't my fault, and Tabu made a typo!

A fan of Tabu emails to accuse the Great One of being BIASED! BIAS IS A GOOD THING! responds the Great One.

Newsarama > CBR. At least, as long as you don't scroll past the bottom of the artical and read the use comments. It's like a wanky tranwreck with the origial creators often piping in to make themselves look stupid. OK, actually, it's not much better... but still... a little better!

Hey, I'll be the first to admit to being a spelling, grammar, and punctuation Nazi. But when something starts out as an argument about whatever the hell it was originally about devolves into, "He mispelled this, this, and that, and makes fun of my typos!" means someone has waaay too much time. Also? Lots of tl;dr.

Nerd fight! NERD FIGHT!

I never agree with comic reviews and thusly don't read them... I *can't* be the only one... I mean, I've thought of writing my own, but hey, that would mostly just be me snarking about something I quite adore for the fun of it.
