On the Rpg.net forums, a review by Louis Catchet of Dungeons and Dragons, 4th edition is posted. The review has since been pulled (EDIT: reeve has found us a copy, but going by the comments it seems to have been pretty negative and badly written. Some of it may be replicated here. Both his grammar and his ideas are criticized until the man himself shows up on page 2. And that's where the crazy starts.

Over on the Dear Author blog, they run a weekly feature where authors can send in their first page for critique. Last Saturday, readers were treated to a doozy [Link text NSFW] labled as a contemporary romance novel where the opening scene consisted of a fifty-six-year-old washed-up boxer receiving a blowjob from an anonymous woman. Comments were mixed, but tended towards the negative. Things began to heat up when the author of the piece showed up in the comments to defend her literary masterpiece.

That was before it was announced that the PC version wouldn't support dedicated servers, and players would instead be stuck having to use a matchmaking system. According to the Joystiq piece: Even without a doctorate in PC gaming affairs, it's easy to see how this fact would upset someone (or some community) who drops a wad of cash every month on renting a private server. Also preturbed by this news are fans of modded game modes and custom maps -- both of which would be unlikely under the IWNet framework.
