Hey it's CLAMP wank! =D

Over in clamp_rants, jlarinda, rants about people complaining about Syaoran and Sakura from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles getting so many covers and splash pages, being as they are the main characters of the series.

Starts off well enough with people agreeing with the OP and then aniki_kurai enters with her own opinions reasons about why people like TRC, namely the slashable characters Fai and Kurogane and definitely not Syaoran and Sakura. At first people are a bit boggled by her statements but that does not stop her from insisting that most TRC fans are Fai and Kurogane fans, going as far to say they are entitled to demand more Fai and Kurogane art from CLAMP.

Of course people question the entitlement claim but aniki_kurai insists that because she is part of the fanbase that is buying the books she has the right to claim that there should be more Fai and Kurogane and less Syaoran and Sakura. She also then breaks out the fact she has a BA in Business and to quote:

well, i do have a Bachelors in Business for a start and some other general knowledge of life, that quietly whisper in my ear, that whenever big money is concerned, the world stops being as simple as "i do what i wnat and i don't care what others think" XD

And to top it all off she blames her foul mood on that it's been about a month break between chapters. Which for long term CLAMP fans is nothing compared to the suffering of X and Legal Drug fans are stuck enduring.

For a while now things have been fairly peaceful in the CLAMP fandom. Sure there have been minor fights here and there but nothing like the glory days of X when you couldn't go five minutes without a Seishirou/Subaru vs Kamui/Subaru fight.

However it's CLAMP, so of course things weren't going to remain peaceful.

Surprisingly, the thread DIDN'T explode in wank right away. Maybe the members knew about the wank from hated_character and didn't want to start another. Or maybe they knew what to expect of the poster and didn't see any reason to argue with her.

Still, it screams WANK to me...just the tone of the ranting. Am I wacko for wondering if at some point wank WILL explode when someone sees it and feels the need to respond?

A little update to this cute little snippet from the ever-popular X fandom. You know, the one with the mysterious, anonymous reviewer?

Well, apparently, it's killing ariseishuro, who would like all of the world to know that she knows *exactly* who the culprit reviewer is! But she has to ask permission before revealing their supah-sekrit identity... Oh, pooh. Her other all-wise friend says no, so no Masonic sekrits for teh plebes today. ;_;

But that won't let her be stopped from making vague and obsequeious innuendoes about who it is, oh no!

Anyone else smell the strong headwind of bullshit blowing over here, or is it just my imagination?

Several months ago, in the X fandom, there came an upsurge of "anonymous fic review sites", in which members of the fandom- sometimes BNFs themselves- would assume a pseudonym and proceed to tear the hell out of someone else's fanfic. Some pretty darn snarky. Some were "dedicated to telling the truth about mainstream fanfic".

And then... there was Mary-Sue.

No, seriously, that's what she's calling herself. And she's already laid into a fanfic. Watch as I get wanky, someone else dares her to review one of their own fics, and the author of the reviewed fic finds out.

Small now, but knowing my fandom, it's going to explode, and soon!

The issue of "Is Tomoyo really a lesbian?!" pops up again here.
However, while you do have the teenyboppers who deny any form of homosexuality, you also have the people who claim Tomoyo is actually a heterosexual fetishist.

I admit, I have no respect for CLAMP's writing ability, and the ending of CCS is a huge example why. To see people argue (at length, even) something that was so bad in the first place makes my pretentious brain turn to mush and ooze out of my ears.
