All right, this one's a little late according to the WR comment, but I'm posting it anyway because this shit's too damn funny to let it pass.

Search the Taiora or Sorato tag on tumblr and you might run into the news that Hiroyuki Kakudou, the director for the first two Digimon series, recently answered questions about Sora and Yamato getting together at the end of Digimon Adventure 02 instead of the statistically more popular favorite, Taichi and Sora, on his Twitter account.

A while ago, Jippy posed a couple of questions to Kakudou via Twitter about what went on with the executive decision to make Sora and Yamato the canon pairing. He answered that Sorato had been planned since the beginning of Digimon Adventure, and that Taichi and Sora were never meant to be. Jippy took to tumblr and made some tl;dr posts discussing his replies, as well as using it to push her explanation of "Sorato is real" and overanalyzing the Taisorato relationship to contribute to individual character development, along with contradictory statements that Digimon was supposed to focus on friendship, not romance.

Lots of butthurt ensued.

I personally never had a bone to pick in this fight since I hung out in the Jyou/Mimi corner and refused to touch the Taiora vs. Sorato vs. Taito bullcrap (specially since Sora was so hated by all "corners"), but still. Dammit people, it has been like... 10 years, if not MORE?

Anyway, I posted a thread in the Digimon comm about the first episode of the latest dubbed season, Data Squad.

Most people liked it, especially since only one unnecessary shot (of someone being kicked in the balls) was cut and the biggest change was a few names.

But apparently to some people, that's "butchering". Especially to Bucue, a known dub-hating troll who flames every topic having to do with the series' dubs.

But meh it's the dub, better things to do that worry how many limbs they cut off to amuse children."

Oh yeah, because a dub with one missing scene that would have upped the rating is *so* far removed from the original. Riiiight.

Bonus--Yakuza wank!

Apparently the Digimon fandom has decided, in some odd spurt of contrariness, that September is the month to wank more openly and publicly than usual. It starts innocently enough in the digimon community on lj with tryxkittie's post asking for opinions in comparing each season of the dub and how others think it rates with other dubs. ryosato starts the ball rolling by opening their comment with a statement that they hate the dub along with how much most dubs suck and that older ones are better (...). Okay! ajora starts poking them for it and it gets really amusing really fast. Unfortunately (or fortunately for us), ryosato had to go and post in their own damn community about how they're tired of being called an elitist blahblahblah and generally trying to make themselves look good (and failing). Small wank, but very rewarding in the amusement factor.

So. Ryosato just finished reading the Korean Digimon comic. Ryosato...was not pleased. No biggie, not many people seem to be.

And then Blackjackrocket comments.

And things...go downhill fast, and I can't finish reading it due to eyepain. Maybe you'll do better.
