TL;DR Faker impersonates one of the stars of Doctor Who, continues even after the BBC and the real actress make announcements that it's a fake, and calls anyone who says she's not the real actress a "creepy stalker". They create an obvious sockpuppet, and is most likely the owner of a longtime fansite for another Doctor Who actress. After being suspended from Twitter, she's currently impersonating the actress on other sites.

ofdrumsthesound is an RP journal for the Master from Doctor Who that appears to have gained some measure of notoriety around my local RP meme comms. I can't personally comment on their IC conduct since I've never interacted with them but I've gathered from a few of my colleagues that they tend to be both out-of-character and not an easy character to deal with.

EDIT: Apparently this has been going on for several years, in different incarnations. A BRPS post explains the player's time at dear_multiverse, which includes conduct like this and driving off multiple players through their behavior. This eventually resulted in a ban for being a general godmoding squeeharshing buzzkill.

I don't think autism and social awkwardness are going to explain a multiyear fetish for creeping people out.

Over in Doctor Who fandom, it seems like Doctor/Rose fic writer jeprdyfrndly (aka Victoria Lane-Lyton), BFF of fellow Doctor/Rose fic writer amberfocus, has a serendipitous life. She met her gorgeous husband, also a Doctor Who fan, when he saw her reading a Doctor Who book in a cafe. They had a lovely wedding (the groom's cake even had a Doctor and Rose on it!), went on a European honeymoon that included several Doctor Who-themed locations (London, Cardiff, and Barcelona), and settled into domestic bliss and financial security (he owns a coffee shop; she has access to a trust). Then she got pregnant despite two kinds of birth control, and had twin girls (she herself is a twin, and there's a history of twins in her family). She's a stay-at-home mum now, but her husband hired a high-school girl to help out by coming in for three hours every day after school to cook, clean, and mind the twins.

A few days ago, she posted a picture of her adorable babies.

Stop_Plagiarism is a comm dedicated to *drumroll* stopping plagiarism. One day PolgaraWolf is brought to their attention. She's posted some Doctor Who fanfic that's got plagiarized bits in it, so the OP writes her about it.

Carl Anderson, webcomic writer, posts a comic in which he blames American Doctor Who fans for local retailers failing since they all buy on eBay. >:( ...And, calls them stupid, lazy, fat and a few other things, and claims that they deserve to get their show cancelled!

mrv3000 sets out to address a lingering prejudice in fandom, one she is personally affected by. Doesn't sound funny so far, right? Just wait.

You see, it's not racism, or sexism, or classism, or anything similar Miss 3000 feels the need to address, oh no! Instead, she decides to discuss one of the more persistent problems in fandom: the horrors of OTP-ism! For you see, according to her:

I'm a serial OTP-er. I rather doubt this will ever change. Pretty much all of my fannish experience (even before the 10 years I've been hanging out in fandom) has been me latching on to one pairing and squeeing the hell out of it. I don't find it particularly juvenile that I generally only ship one pairing, but yet I see so many comments that indicate as much. That somehow a person is enlightened if they can multi-ship (or really enlightened if they like threesomes or more) and some sort of idiot fangirl if they OTP. Or that if a person has an OTP, then by that very definition they must be on a crusade to wreck every other pairing. Um, say what? Just because I don't find some other ship plausable doesn't mean that someone else can't. (Unless they believe that my thinking trumps their thinking; in which case, dude, get me a latte! I've always wanted a minion!)

Many people agree (especially at first), several people don't, and the whole thing rapidly spirals into a debate about whether or not 'mono-shipping' is the same as OTPing and if the 'true' in One True Pairing inherently invalidates all other ships. jaythenerdkid/bewarethespork writes a reaction post discussing 'sign-systems' as they relate to Doctor/Rose shippers, where people respond Very Seriously, and the entire thing pretty much reads like a war about whose shipping patterns are betterer with some big words thrown in.

Over at doctorwho a user psychedelicsand decides to share her 'art' with the community. Red flags instantly raise, as well as Crystal-wank comparisons, as her 'art' looks like it was run through paintshop filters. The original post has been bahleeted but a mousey over at wank_report has a screen cap of the original post with some of the early comments.

With the post bahleeted, psychedelicsand makes sure she gets her say against all the naysayers (I suggest trying to not look at her default icon there)over at doctorwho. Where she gives us such gems like:

I don't think I can take this anymore... I have done nothing wrong.. ever... I posted those images in my previous post because I really did paint them.. and people responded with so much hate. I'm not a hateful person. I'm not a liar. I'm an existentialist and a writer, I treasure experience.

And:

ETA: Her LJ account have been bahleeted. And now I feel bad about being too lazy to think about capping any of it. =( But she has left a parting message on her DA, though has bahleeted all other entries.

As Whomageddon rolls on, doctorwho  brings us another sterling gem. Or rather, two bright turds of wank, coupled together to form a synergistic pile of perfection.

First, cringer1982 shares that he's written a very pointed letter to the BBC about how they have portrayed Asians in their recent episode Turn Left. He neglects to mention that he's white as the fresh driven snow. Irish, in fact.

BBC officials respond with a letter that has nothing to do with anything.

Some people don't see his point.

Veteran Doctor Who wanker Kate Orman (Kate Orman) (aka lj user seeingred) is no fan of anonymous memes. Finding she was not not at all loved at the anonymous doctor who livejournal community - who_anon - Ms. Orman urged the meme's creator lolcoholic to shut the meme down.

But months later, Kate curiously starts her own anon community, which *surprise* attracts negative responses. ihasawall was up for zero point five seconds, so the amount of actual abuse is uncertain. But, not surprisingly, Kate continues the wank here at her macro community (ihasatardis) where she can log IP addresses, delete comments, and ban people.

Naturally, some readers are butthurt. Others are confused. Was there abuse? Who dares disparage the house of Orman? Luckily, readers repost examples of the hateful comments, such as the companion's identity is not a spoiler twelve episodes into the show. Kate and various minions respond with "oh my poor unspoiled eyes" and "I luff Kate."

The who_anon anonymice continue to not love Kate and are sad to have missed the opportunity to slag her at the dearly departed community.

I knew with the season finale there would new Doctor Who wank popping up and I was not disappointed. It's more on the mild side but it could be a warm up to the things to come as the second half of the finale airs this weekend.

WARNING: There be spoilers for the season 4 episodes that have aired in the UK but not in other parts of the world in the comments. So read at your own peril.

Over at doctorwho the mod thehornedgod makes a mod post asking everyone not to say anything or even use an icon that insults any of the Doctor's companions as they are all special people. What the mod fails to do in his 'all companions are special so leave them alone' is actually give proper guidelines to what 'bashing' consists of. But he does leave instructions to have people contact him if they see anyone bashing, in text or via icon, a character. And with that gross lack of information and the fact the mods are asking people to snitch on others, the wank explodes.

Be warned, there's some unfunny business in the first comment thread that should be skipped. The rest of the comments thankfully are more on the lines of 'why can't I say I dislike a character' and 'OMG the mod is being so mean'.

thehornedgod does clarify that people can discuss why they dislike a character but only if they give proper, well thought out reasons to why. Unfortunately that's all in the comments not the actual post, as the mods think people should just automatically understand where the line is instead of actually explaining the rules they've set.

There are also several people that wonder why people are getting so defensive about what people say about fictional characters, which the mod defensively snaps at telling them that if they don't like the rules, GTFO.

Eventually in the comments there are some mentions to what set the mods off.

tzikeh has a burning issue and a desire to ask a question of Doctor Who fen that is fandom specific, but not so specific to actually be referred to, even when asking permission of the mods to explore the question.

Eventually someone winkles the Great Mystery out of her, and it turns out that all Doctor Who fans are apparently Icon-thieveing bastards.

Evidently she's discovered one of the few pockets of wank that hasn't yet been thoroughly explored by the DW fandom, and the fur begins to merrily fly to correct this.   Arguments on fair use, pointing out that US law is not international law, cries of "Get the hell over it" and threats of litigation from felines commence

As any phule no, Steven Moffat has been named as the new producer of Doctor Who and the latest episode was set in a massive library world.
This makes Lawrence Miles a grumpy ol' bear!
Lawrence Miles is responsible for a few Doctor Who novels, some of them highly rated. Since the shows return, he has been EXTREMELY critical of its direction. The fact he's not on board as a writer is a total coincidence.

The grudgewank started a week ago when Miles posts in his blog that he wrote a tv script before christmas that was also set in a cosmic library. The entry referring to it has been bahleeted but the link is still active - http://davidjhowe.cogia.net/TheBookOfTheWorld.pdf (for what it's worth, it's a good script but wouldn't make a good episode of a TV series. There's flashes of brilliance but it feels very clichéd, barely any characterisation and the ending is a big deus ex machina).

Anyway Silence in the Library is shown and generally loved by all.

Miles unleashes the fucking fury!

So here's the dealio: A Teaspoon And An Open Mind (the main Doctor Who fic archive) underwent a changing of the mods and implemented some changes in policy.

About the same time, user MelindaKitty was banned for using a homophobic slur in an essay and being abusive to moderators. Also, as it turns out, misclassifying one of her essay as a story. (There are screencaps.) She was kind enough to post the essay in question so we could see how entirely not like a story it is.

She was not very happy about it. Neither were either of her spouses or her friends. But the mods and their ilk kept their own comments on the affair behind f-lock and so things quieted down for a while.

Then came the Fighting Spoon. Fighting Spoon's purpose was to provide a place for people to bitch about the recent policy changes at the Teaspoon. It also created an lj comm which claims it can "achive your fics but you should use friend only posts there - so Teaspoon Mods don't know who's with me" (which ignores the fact that anyone can see who's joined a comm.)

Meanwhile, in the journal itself, Fighting Spoon starts out by reposting an email where it complains about how it took a whole twelve to fourteen hours for their fic to get approved now that submissions are moderated. In the comments, moderation of submissions is called repressive pseudo-fascism and V for Vendetta is quoted channeled.

Wank breaks out on all sides! There is tl;dr rant about how mods should be democratically elected and that the whole thing is in violation of the First Amendment, never mind that the mod that banned her is SCOTTISH. Melindakitty's husband reposts the Godwin-invoking lyric-filled rant he'd emailed the mods with. People get confused about who swore at the mod. A debate on the nature of fascism is held. Comparisons are made to Animal Farm. The spirit of Aldous Huxley is called upon. Someone tries to play peacemaker which doesn't work.

All the while Fighting Spoon is backpedalling furiously and MelindaKitty just wants to get back to policy.

About the only thing missing from this is Rosewank, but don't worry, someone's trying to start one in the wank report!

As usual, when someone posts about Doctor Who in Wank Report, the mice come out in droves to wank about it.

Originally, larissa_j complained to a mod at Time and Chips (Doctor/Rose comm) that when she followed a link to a Doctor/Rose picture, she was forced to view a Doctor/Martha layout! Horrors!

Mods should be policing the journal layouts of community members - This is being stern, direct and not taking bull and I have every right to this attitude after being exposed to that journal thanks to this comm. I hold the mods lax attitude responsible for this.

The mods should be as batshit as me! - Oh aren't you clever. I honestly don't care. It's your job as mods to field complaints. If you can't handle this, step down.

It's too bad the wank was screened - making this more surreal, because the Rosefen insisting that it didn't go down that way! don't have any more evidence than the OP - but the Rosefen decided to take pity and cause more wank! The first reply in the W_R thread doesn't get what's going on, and people try to correct her. Also, there may be more to what's going on than we know.

Doctor Who shipwank ahoy! jesidres makes a post about Rose fen being molested by those horrible Martha fen who invented the word "batshit" to be mean to Rose fen, or something. Except, oops, "fen" is a derogatory term. And so is calling someone blond(e).

My personal favorite part is when leighleighla admits she hasn't found any of these posts with the Martha fen attacking the Rose fen, and concludes that this must be because the Martha fen are like ninjas!
