It's something I never understood. I understand people appreciating the brotherly (FAMILY) love between them. The fact that they're so different and would definately be willing to kill each other, but they can't bring themselves to completely hate each other. Lady and Arkham had that too. Despite all the horribly things that Arkham had done to both her and others, she was still saddened when she killed him. Same with Dante. Despite what Vergil had done to him and was planning on doing to the world, when he left the human world forever, he was saddened by that too.

I don't find it romantic in the least and I don't understand why people try to make it out to be. I don't think someone can completely hate their family member, and DMC3 decided to play on that. And it's fairly obvious that Dante likes women. He hits on almost all the DMC girls, has naked pictures of women in his office, and totally got a boner the moment he saw Nevan. I don't think he's ever done that around Vergil.

Plus.... they're brothers. That's just sick.

So since there seems to be quite a lot of twincest fans here, I'd like to hear what they have to say. It confuses me when people dislike Dante/Trish because Trish is a clone of his mother, but turn around and say that two brothers fucking is hot.

Meet darkhecatemoon. Darkhecatemoon says if you enjoy incest in fanfic, you should support it in real life, or else you're a big hypocrite, just like the people who enjoy slash, but are against gay rights in real life. She invites response, and even links it in the SPN newsletter (and the post is also linked on metafandom). She gets some responses of "very interesting!" and "thank you for making me challenge my beliefs."

Sadly, some of the responders do not thank darkhecatemoon for opening their eyes and leading them into the garden of incestual delights, and actually point out that her argument really doesn't hold up, and her further defense of the argument doesn't make sense at all.

prisonbreaknews is a fandom newsletter just like every other fandom newsletter, except it's for the FOX TV series Prison Break. And the maintainers don't post direct links to incest stories in their fic section.

thelana notices the lack of incest fic recs and wants to know why. The maintainers, keepaofthecheez and angel_1013 explain their reasoning. That's not good enough for thelana, who argues the point. And again. And some more. I could be here all night linking to thelana's comments because she never. shuts. up.

Eventually, supporters of keepaofthecheez and angel_1013 show up and things get nasty. angel_1013 claims anti-incest people threatened to report her to the FBI. thelana accuses angel_1013 and keepaofthecheez of calling in the cavalry and invokes fandom_wank. angel_1013 decides to get rid of the fic section entirely, then blames that decision on thelana but in the same paragraph says she's been thinking about getting rid of it for a long time.

Those are just some highlights. There's a lot more good stuff in the comment threads. Things wind down in the community, but angel_1013 has even more to say about it in her journal. If thelana finds out about it, the squabbling could start up again. As it stands now, this is a satisfying little wank, and I believe it's baby's Prison Break's first wank, yes?

Most responses fall into the categories of "I'm not sure I understand the motivation to write something like this," or "This story really needs stronger warnings than just non-con and underage," or "This is totally badwronghot." There is this anonymous "Shame on you." comment for a break from the carefully-worded and polite condemnations.

The co-authors respond with a rather redundant, "This is a line that we think needed to be crossed," for awhile, and then they start just thanking people for commenting.

The feedback is very carefully thought-out in order to keep it from breaking into full-on wank mode, until isika breaks out the ALLCAPS OF D00M and, er, chastises the people who responded negatively.

Unfortunately, the rant was deleted.

AnimeonDVD recently posted a review of the first volume of Koi Kaze, an anime that revolves around a brother and sister and their feelings for each other.

Over on the forum page, people are generally kind. A few people are creeped out by the subject matter, but most agree that Koi Kaze is a pretty good little show.

However, someone has to point out the obvious. This begins a few pages of (polite) debate over whether or not incest is genetic. Then indigo0086 feels the need to start something.

From that point on, the rest of the discussion turns into a half-successful debate and a string of supposed zingers/attempts at showing off.
