zvi, however, takes exception. Amongst other objections, A Matter of Inconvenience is not about race, thoughtlessly invokes colonial issues, and just doesn't put up any warning flags for those who are about to read it. Also, apparently, this is a thing Astolat fucked up. Everybody, please to endeavor not to fuck up like that with your next happy fun sexytimes historical.

What starts off as moderately polite discussion about historicity in slash fanfiction is, however, quickly derailed by willow who offers the following reasoned evaluation: In the middle of the cuppa tea, the empire waist dresses and the ass-sex of your AU Regency - please to be remembering the hydra heads of colonialism and imperialism and what that means for and about your whitey white penis salt lick fan thought of the moment.

liviapenn tries to calm things down a bit with some entertaining stuff about plumbers and blow jobs but this only serves to upset willow further. Why is it that everytime I see you lately, you're happily shoving your foot into your mouth via your hindquarters? ... You keep claiming to understand your privilege and say you're reflecting on it and then you start chomping that feces encrusted shoe leather again. willow's User Info states "'M brown and I have an attitude." No kidding.

astolat's attempt to explain herself gets stomped on, and the desirability of historical accuracy in a Kris/Adam Regency alternate universe is lathered, rinsed and repeated for those who missed it the first time.

Small, but strangely vitriolic given the subject matter. It's difficult to imagine why people are getting quite so over-excited about one piece of costumed fluff in a universe of lesbian cars and tentacle porn, but it may keep us entertained while we're waiting for next incarnation of VB.

ETA: Okay, I get the message, I got it wrong - or maybe I just don't have a sense of humour? Either way, it was obviously a bad call. Lesson learned.

Over on LJ, caras_galadhon posts about a case of plagiarism in LoTRips fandom and why isn't anyone saying anything? Turns out not only did the author -- one namarie120 plagiarize Jane Eyre for LotRips fandom, she also published it professionally.

In response, koulagirl666 makes some interesting statements, including "The plagiarism standards in fandom are obviously markedly lower than IRL, else none of the movie-based fics or book-based fics would exist."

caras_galadhon rebuts her argument, koolagirl666 insists that no, no, it's differently, really! And that people have approached namarie120 privately, so no one should say anything. 'Plagiarism' kerfluffle in Korean boyband RPS fandom.

A few days ago, Ravenlock_3 posts a fic in which one of the characters is dying of AIDS, and later, quix_esque also postsa fic where one of the characters has AIDS.

Well, Ravenlock_3 is as mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. She also claims that Quix_esque stole her deafness fic idea.

Look, I don't care about outright plagiarism because, I'll admit it, I'm not the best writer, but I'm good enough to deserve an "Inspired by this fic..." WHEN YOU STEAL MY IDEA. Copy my stuff straight out and I won't care, but I like my ideas. They are MINE.

Quix_esque, on the other hand, insists that she did not read Ravelock_3's fic, and defends herself against the accusations.

It looks like we had all better get down our claims fast, before we get accused of plagiarism. Dibs on cholera.

Meet thevelvetsun. He has a beef with LJ admin, namely they bahleeted his character from a celeb RPG. The reason? It's against the TOS to impersonate anyone. Even in RPGs. Along comes clawfoot who says that it was impersonation basically. TVS explains that he had a disclaimer, but as the TOS said, that doesn't matter. From there, TVS gets annoyed: Yeah, people have always been afraid of creepy and weird stuff. I guess that's why gay marriage hasn't been legalized yet, and people are still going around calling other people fag**ts and beating them to death. Just because they think it's creepy and weird doesn't mean we should be shut down with no warning. Yeah, this doesn't go over well.

TVS isn't done yet though, and posts again about how he was attacked in comments and that people are "judging" him for his type of RP. Wank unsurprisingly occurs. Small right now, but still has potential.

People on the tutixnagayan comm, a community for RPS between two Japanese stage actors who played in musical versions of Prince of Tennis and Bleach, got a little carried away, finding 'clues' about their relationship as seen at the Bleach musical, basically making things up. Hinoai, also a community member (see edit below), was also at the event and tells them half the stuff posted didnt happen at all--perhaps not the smartest move, but apparently the girl values truth over fangirling. Big mistake as all RPSers turn out rabid and ZOMGDONTUDARESAYTHEIRLOVEISNOTREAL!!111 Hinoai is attacked by at least 20 people, who tell her she's an elitist wh0r, a fandom nazi and should go commit suicide. Original post about this sadly deleted, but I actually felt sorry for hinoai as they were REALLY extraordinarily nasty - some of these people knew her well enough to get really personal.

Hinoai runs a community with picture scans of magazines and photosets featuring the actors. It's a closed community, though everyone can join freely, for a valid reason as can be read at the userinfo. She did however go and ban everyone who attacked her personally and told her to go commit suicide etc. Not that unfair--why share her scans and things with people who obviously prefer her dead? The banning spree apparently applied to the Bleach myu comm as well, and probably involved bystanders who just happen to be a member of tutixnagayan. cavechan felt she did no wrong and contacted hinoai, who said she "Even though... missed my post, you still wanted to congratulate for everyone coming together to bash me". She has since been reinstated as member of tenimyuenorondo.

koneko_desu, also banned, took all the pictures and posted them openly on her own journal. She called it 'retaliation'. Sane people got disgusted. koneko_desu went batshit.

Hinoai wrote a general response in her own journal, which also has a lot of the deleted comments from the original post.

Koneko_desu then made a post asking for everyone in the tenimyu community to tell her if she's ruining things for them. If she gets half the fandom to do so she'll delete and apologize. So basically? She's asking about 1000 people to comment on her journal. Attention whore much?

This is an entry in Leadensky's LJ. And lo, it is a wanky entry. Leadensky felt the need to share hir views regarding RPS with the world. Ze doesn't like RPS, oh no precious, though it should be noted that ze has no such qualms regarding FPS/FPF.
