Well, I rather liked it. Though I'm sure it helped that we had Tonks in the row in front of us - she was awesome.

| | Izumikawa Sora — Yahoo! | ] | So I'm a Gaia Online user. Yes, yes, get the giggling/sniggering/pointing and laughing/kumquat out of the way now.
Anyway, I've been tooling around on Gaia for about four years now. I've been consistently bug-hunting for two of those four years; in the real-time interactive area known as Towns, there are insects the user can catch and collect. These can be traded into make inks for use in dyeing paper and making tattoos, but I digress. There are several rare bugs that can pop up on occasion. In my two years of bug-hunting, I have only seen any of these rare bugs today. In fact, I saw six of them. And caught them all.
It is a small, silly, stupid little thing to be happy about, I suppose, but damnit, it makes me happy. |

I'm starting to feel like fandom_lounge is spamming me, and it just won't stop.
If I wasn't such a lazy mod, I'd do... something. |

| | Night Court theme on TV | ] | Huzzah, the complimentary customer Internet works today! And I find this especially good as we got here at 0700 and we'll be here 'til Shub-Niggurath knows when. At least now I can talk to people without eating up my mobile time. Heh.
I'm probably going to pay out the nose for getting the truck worked on, as she's over warranty, but I'd rather be safe than sorry when sis and I head North for Turkey Day. Although the weather on our travel days will determine just how far North we go, as I am disinclined to test my driving on foully wintry roads and Granma reports they've already had about three to five inches of snow this week.
And no, my icon isn't entirely correct, but that's about how I feel at the moment. |

I realize this is way early, but I was wondering if anyone else was planning on going to World-Con next year. If so, I think it would be awesome to have a Fandom Wank party. It would be cool to see how many FWers there are out there.
Post and let me know so I can see if it's worth grabbing a room. |

| JEFFREY DONOVAN PICSPAM!!! |
[Nov. 18th, 2008|01:46 pm] |
This was a lovely idea brought up by sneer to pass the time while we wait for LJ to get back online. I bring you my favorite actor ever, Mr. Jeffrey Donovan. You may know him better as J.J. Jones from Changeling or Micheal Westin from USA Network's Burn Notice. Heck you might even know him as David Creegan from USA Network's short-lived drama, Touching Evil. Or- maybe you've just seen him around as a guest star on Crossing Jordan, Monk, Law&Order, Witchblade, The Pretender, or Millennium (and that's just naming a few off the top of my head). However you know him, he is a great man and a great actor of stage, screen, and TV.
Also? He has his MFA from New York University's Graduate Acting Program. Pretty and a brain- what more could you want?
For more information on the man- http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0232998/
And now for why you're here- THE PICSPAM!!! ( Jeffrey Donovan this way- NOT DIAL-UP FRIENDLY )
If you desire to see more of Jeffrey (and you know you do) then check out this website- http://jeffreydonovanfans.com/gallery/index.php

IAGO:
Shifting to the left and right, I feel the boat moving. What the fuck! Why are we moving? Did my father find me? Waking up, I hear the drawl of Dorian's voice and smirk to myself. I crashed here last night after I snuck out of my house. My father's been giving me a hard time about school and Glass and everything else so I decided to chuck the whole fuckin' thing and get away for a while. He'll be livid when I get home but truly, when isn't he? Fuck 'im and fuck his notions of propriety. I wanna get drunk, high and laid and if I'm right, I can hear Glass voice up on deck, too. Thank you, Dorian.
Making my way to the bar, I light a smoke, grab a bottle and smirk at Dorian while he tries to smooth his way into the laps of Glass and Lily as she says, "A game could be fun, what did you have in mind?"
"Never have I ever." I smirk again as I blatantly eye Glass. I give Lily a wink and continue. "Never have I ever seen a chick drink more than me." |

The Tavern Friday, Early Evening
I look up from finishing the hem on Glass' dress (and dear God how I've come to loathe lace these past few days) and nearly gasp. The shop had been quiet all day, only one appointment before lunch. After a quick bite with Oscar, oh how much fun he is to tease, I retreated to the back room for a few finishing touches on the gown...
And look up to see that it's already dusk. Well, there goes the day. I stand and dust off my trousers before walking out to find Oscar nodding off in a chair by the door. I suppose there hasn't been much for him to do today. I clear my throat and lean against the wall.
"Eh..." He stirs, opening one bleary eye. Of course, the other immediately follows suit and he jumps to his feet. "Ah, evenin' sir! I was just..."
"It is all right, lad. Run on home and I'll see you in the morning."
Oscar blinks at me a few times, an annoying habit of his I'm starting to gather, before taking off out the door. I suppose supper's on at the farm. That reminds me of my own supper plans, though they do not really include much beyond whiskey and perhaps conversation. The tavern has been calling to me for days, and I need to speak with Glass about the wedding. It'll be pulling teeth, but at least there will be alcohol.
I take a long hot shower, body more than capable of such tedious hours but mind ill-equipped. After I'm thoroughly refreshed, it's time to toss on clothes (I do so love working in this store) and head over to the tavern.
Dressed in jeans and a leather jacket, only the waistcoat and dress shirt keep the outfit from being too casual. Even for the tavern, it wouldn't do to look slovenly. The crowd I'd been expecting isn't there, perhaps it's still too early for the usual fare, so I grab a seat at the bar and order a glass of firewhiskey.

| | Mannheim Steamroller — Traditions of Christmas | ] | It's nice to know that as much as I annoy them and as much as they aggravate me to no end, my kitties still love me. As Shiva, notorious for detesting cuddles, has been happy to demonstrate by curling up beside me on the sofa. I may feel like reconstituted crap and too loopy on pain medication to get much of anything done, but my kitty loves me.
I also have better friends than I ever thought I'd have. Friends who like me well enough to give me e-hugs even though I whinge all the time, who are willing to give me advice on things that should probably be obvious, who talk and listen. Friends who are willing to lend a hand and go to bat for me. I'm a very rich person and I don't know if I can say "thank you" enough for that. |

[Nov. 17th, 2008|01:50 am] |
I was taking a break from work this evening and fell into the wiki again.
The sad thing about going back to old wanks is seeing people who have just moved on entirely, either by going away and not coming back, or deleting their journals.
:(
(There's also the fun of names I remember as being important, but can't remember anything about them at all. Were they hufflen00bs? Were they Big Name Kool Kids? Were they cabal members? I don't remember at all. Just... Ooh, Awesome Icon person!)
I get all wistful when I'm sleepy. |
