Was there ever any wank about the 2004 movie? the actors? the musical? anything?

I can remember wank about changing Christine's age, Emmy Rossum being cast, Gerard Butler being cast, ZOMG! Michael Crawford was cast!, etc.

I think it is to be expected with pre-existing fanbases like that.

Unfortunately, all the Phantom wank I saw was back in the mid-90s, on (probably) unarchived mailing lists, and was on the subject of whether there should be a film at all.
