P@L?
I figured we might start out here with a story I actually know, and something that just came up. So, settle down, kiddies, here we go.

Back, way back in July of 2003, azusa discovered a giant mess of Silmarillion Fanfic Wank, which was well-nigh unreadable. It got 76 comments, which was a larger number then than it is now, but still not GIAGANTIC.

However, one of those involved in the wank, a certain Philosopher at Large, was not about to take this lying down. She decided to strike back, in the best way she could.

An almost-unreadable essay.

Which, of course, got wanked. Just under 300 comments. 299, to be exact. Of course, being F_W, most of this was unrelated, including a giant digression about Slayers slash/Yaoi/Yuri.

mistresssaigon, who I believe to not be around anymore, sent P@L an e-mail, which, of course, led to our second post on the subject after P@L used the opportunity to be...well...P@L. (Don't miss sagralisse's lovely Ode to an Uruk-hai in this one.

There was a bit of "Silence" for a while ("Silence" is in quotes, because then was a major attack from of She-Who-Will-Not-Be-Wanked which led to a rather intense lock-down...but that's a different story for a different time...) and then P@L gave us a sequel to her first essay.

Do I even need to say what happened?

In my own biased opinion, the point where people pulled out MegaHals was one of the spotlights here. Another is SNACKY'S LAW LIVES!!!

And, as far as I know, this was all until yesterday, when a new poster discovered the essay again.
