Ultimates wank involving Captain America?
So I've been partially sucked back into Marvel fandom via the Iron Man movie, and was trying to find various related comic titles, which included Ultimates. I came across the page in volume 2 where Captain America made a slightly derogatory remark about France while fighting an alien invader thing, and thought, "Wait, wasn't this wanked at some point?" Except I can't seem to find it in the wiki, and going through the memories section is time consuming (but I'm still going at it). Anyone happen to remember if there was a post about this?

Wait: was it the thing that got referenced shortly after in Nextwave, when Elsa Bloodstone said "What do I look like, a victim?" when she got mistaken for American?

...I know there was online wank somewhere, but I don't actually remember if it even showed up on f_w, or just one of my other comics places. (I'm fairly sure it went beyond on s_d, though, 'cause I'd have been too chicken to wade into s_d after nationalism wank.)

If I remember correctly, Captain, when told to surrender, said "Do you think this A stands for France?" and later Elsa, who was wearing an EU shirt, said "Do you think this stands for America?" when she was referred to either as being a victim or acting like one. And yes, there was wank, although I don't think it ever made it to the wank comms.

It doesn't ring a bell for me. I don't necessarily remember every wank ever posted, but I'm pretty good about them in general. If it's Scans Daily-related, it probably would be in the Scans Daily memories category if it made it here.

Sometimes, the easiest way to search for something is to invoke LJseek.

Since it appears to be Nextwave, try this:

There are only 26 posts listed on Scans Daily with that search, so maybe one of them is the one you're looking for.

Crap, RL gets in the way so many times. *sigh*

Anyway, I tried those links as well as scan a bit of Scans Daily's memories, but I didn't find the wank I thought was there. Either it was on another forum, or I imagined it. Oh well.
