And really, there is a vast gulf between why some Harmonians ship H/Hr and just snogging. I don't think that many OBHWF fans have comprehended that it wasn't just about H/Hr getting together, for many of us. Canon H/Hr tended to cover a lot more than just Harry chasing down his girl for the heck of it. It tended to affect the series, simply because it was a discussion on the nature of love itself for many of us--not just Harry trying to sleep with Hermione. Sure, plenty of squeeing, but really, I sometimes wonder if Harmonians were shippers as traditionally understood. We were, but we were more than that as well. That's the thing that always irked me about H/Hr. That it became something bigger than romance was ever meant to be in the books. H/Hr in this sense became bigger than a mother being 100% willing to die for her child, that love from friends was secondary to romantic love(and JKR seems to be sending the exact opposite message at the end of HBP). Its also incredibly condescending(and I mean that with as little offense as possible since we're having an open, rationale discussion here) to talk about how your(not you specifically) definition of love is deeper and more meaningful than mine. Its elitist, to be honest. Also, to H/Hr the romance became about how Harry was going to defeat Voldemort, that Hermione's role was more than of a sidekick and I don't think most OBHWF shippers saw that. This is Harry's fight and everyone that loves him is going to play apart, from Ron and Hermione down to probably Dobby. Romance was never meant to be the be all and end all of the series(part of me likes that about the H/G storyline, that it didn't clog up HBP or other books. That it was a sideplot). And thank you for not commenting on Sandy I was just using it as an example of how being too close to a wank makes it look bad if you get too involved in the wanking...oh gosh that sentence is awful but I'm too lazy to fix it.
