wow, i do not remember her nails looking pointier than her ears. anyway, i do remember that she was exceedingly pretty as a Vulcan. or was she a Romulan? i must've forgotten that part too.

Half and half. The Romulans had been abducting Vulcans for intel (see also what North Korea has done with Japanese and South Koreans, as well as the two-part TNG ep where Worf finds out that his father might be alive in a secret Rom prison camp); Spock was part of the Starfleet operation that found and rescued them, one half-breed girl in particular. Most Vulcans, of course, wanted no part of a child of such shame - while denying, of course, that emotion played any part in that decision. Spock became her guardian and mentor.

And yeah, she looked damn good in the red and blacks. :)
