 | 09:20 pm - Picspam Preview: Comic Book Characters! I was going to be on time this month. I had such a good plan! I was going to use this weekend to gather pictures and write up a post and do all sorts of things! Oh, the things I was going to do!
And then, well, things happened. Glorious, magnificent, terribly wanky things that ate up my weekend and kept me from doing all the things that I should've been doing instead, with the exception of a short break on Saturday to go protest in support of Wisconsin unions. And also that time I did the laundry. And maybe a couple few other things, like eating, that sort of thing, but that's it, I swear! I HAD A BUSY WEEKEND, OKAY? ;_;
ANYWAY! Here is a preview of your picspam to come! HOORAY! :D

THERE WILL BE MORE SOON! And you still have time to name names! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NAME NAMES! YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO! Yay! :D

Comments:
Ooh, Jeff Bridges, maybe?
Ooh, Jeff Bridges yes please. May I suggest this for starters, perhaps? (I don't know if P. Cruz has been or is scheduled to be in any comic book movies, but...)
Superheroes and Supervillains. I'm going to love this picspam.
Jack Nicholson, Ceasar Romero, Heath Ledger, and Mark Hamill.
"This town needs an enema."
No, "this town needs a better class of criminal."
WHERE IS RYAN REYNOLDS? AND CHRIS EVANS? Of course Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber.
Do comic book VAs count because then we could use Christopher Meloni (he was Hal Jordan!)
If they count, DCU Online has James Marsters as Lex Luthor, Adam Baldwin as Superman and Gina Torres as Wonder Woman, along with the obligatory Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill turns. Tim Daly (DCAU Superman) is gorgeous as well.
I almost want the game just so I can see the NPC cut scenes, but my common sense is pointing me to youtube instead.
Also, we can has Dean Cain, Teri Hatcher and the rest of the cast of Lois & Clark? Unfortunately, the names of the Intergang leaders were changed there, so Bruce Campbell doesn't technically play a comic book character there.

Ah, but they DID do a "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash" comic book a few years ago!
Is it cheating to count comics based on non-comic originals? Because it feels like every SF/F series nowadays has a comics tie-in.
Such as The Guild. In that case, I'd ask for Felicia Day, Amy Okuda, Vincent Caso, and Sandeep Parikh.
If VAs count then we need MARK HAMILL. :D
LIEV SCHREIBER PLEASE.
and more RDJ. Oh dear GODS <3333
You should have an e-mail from me! Tell me if it didnae get there!
Erica Durance, Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher.. Gotta have my Lois Lane fix. And since I'm going for the L.L.. Annette O'Toole & Stacy Haiduk to help represent Lana Lang. Michael Shanks as Hawkman and Laura Vandervoort as Supergirl/Kara Zor El both from Smallville. (And say what you will about writing, but damn if Smallville doesn't know how to cast the eye candy.) Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns", "Dylan Dog", & "Scott Pilgrim vs the World"), Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ellen Wong, Brie Larson.. heck, the whole cast of "Scott Pilgrim vs the World"...
AHA! And I have more! Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, and Roddy McDowall. Why? "Fright Night". Hey, it had a comic book run and all three characters showed up in it. It counts! And you know what? since I'm on that route, the cast of "Ghostbusters". Because hey, "The Real Ghostbusters" was a comic series too.
Does Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel count? If so, there's another huge stash to go through with those... I'll stop now...

Please to be including the entire cast of RED (Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malkovich, Morgan Freeman, Mary-Louise Parker, Karl Urban), as well as Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck from Daredevil & Elektra.
Also! The Walking Dead! Andrew Lincoln!
Also: The Losers was a fairly awful adaptation (of an awesome comic series), but it did have a terribly pretty cast (consisting of: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short and Óscar Jaenada)
Pretty much all of Sin City (Elijah Wood, Arie Verveen, Nick Stahl, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Alexis Bledel, Rosario Dawson). Oh what about Judge Dredd, bad movie but some pretty hot actors.

IDW's got the comics license for Doctor Who (Tennant/Smith/Agyeman/Gillian/Tate plus classic reprints of Four thru Seven), Star Trek (current and classic) & GI Joe, I'm just sayin'...
Also, "History of Violence" (Viggo!) WAS a graphic novel before it was a movie...
All I really consider vital is the presence of lots of Catwomen. Like, everyone who's ever been Catwoman, but especially Eartha Kitt.

but especially Eartha Kitt
THIS THIS THIS.
+!
No, that's not supposed to be +1.
Famke... *sigh* There goes my heterosexuality, again.
Sorry, Pui, I can't help you out with names this time. You've given me pics of Famke and RDJ ON THE SAME PAGE and now my brain is wiped. *pout*

NAMES NAMES NAMES! Only for you, Pui: Liam Neeson (Darkman/Batman Begins) Richard Armitage (Heinz Kruger) Michael Fassbender (new!Magneto) Oscar Jaenada (The Losers) Nicholas Hoult (new!Hank, and so FLUFFY) Johnny Depp (From Hell) Zoe Saldana (The Losers) Peter O'Toole (Supergirl <3) Paul Newman ( wikipedia says Road to Perdition = comic/GN, YES! :D)
The casts of 300 and Watchmen. Rebecca Romijn. Jennifer Connelly. Eric Bana. Ed Norton. Liv Tyler. Bill Bixby.
Oh, also Natalie Portman. And the cast of the upcoming "Thor" and "Avengers" movies (though I think most of the Avengers are already covered by previous Marvelverse movies).
Keanu for his run as Constantine.
Oh, and I mentioned Natalie Portman (she also qualifies as part of the cast of Thor), but obviously Hugo Weaving and the cast of V for Vendetta.
Also Ghost Rider. Nicholas Cage annoys me, but I know other people like him.
(I promise I'm done now!)
If you ever wanted an excuse to post pictures of Dolph Lundgren, Jerome Krabbe, Thomas Jane or Ray Stevenson, the Punisher movies give you that excuse.
(Will go and hunt out pictures if I can)
For that matter, you could add Shaquille O'Neill for his role as Steel.
That rhymed. I don't know whether to be pleased or ashamed.
Pleased. Definitely pleased.
Yeah, I think I'll like this month's picspam.
*drooling over Batman and the new Charles Xavier* (Does this mean we get New!Magneto, too? And maybe some Gerry Butler?)
NEIL PATRICK HARRIS NEIL PATRICK HARRIS NEIL PATRICK HARRIS
He was the voice of Spider-Man in one of the animated series.
He was also the Music Meister in Batman: Brave and The Bold!
Crap now I have to go listen to that CD again.
I'd be happy with some NPH.
Fitting Simon Pegg into this one... Tim Bisley was a comic book artist, does that count? And Shaun of the Dead was adapted into a comic book by IDW.

Simon and Nick also count for the upcoming Tintin movie. :D
SCOTT PILGRIM! Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Allison Pill, Kieran Culkin, Brie Larson, Mae Whitman, Aubrey Plaza, Jason Scwartzman, AND LOTS OF OTHER ATTRACTIVE PEOPLE AS WELL.
JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS aka Rachel Lee Cook, Rosario Dawson, Alan Cumming and Parker Posey! I don't know if Alan or Parker's characters were actually in the comics, but does it matter?
GHOST WORLD aka Thora Birch, Scarlett Johansson, and Steve Buscemi!
TANK GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Watchmen's already been mentioned but I am just going to say it again: seriously, Watchmen.

'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' had a good looking cast. Sean Connery etc...
Also, ditto the Doctor Who suggestion!
Oh, and Michael Caine, pls. |
