Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Musical numbers, curtesy of Harmonians.
There is a double musical treat. Harmoaners love to moan with a propoper theme playing on the background. So, they prepare to every eventuality and opened not one, but two threads at the same time, dedicated to the songs for the victory celebration (I hope Glotation takes notice) and (just in case of oh-so-unlikely turn of events) songs of mournful lament. Behold:

Victory Anthems, What song would you associate with us winning?
http://talk.portkey.org/index.php?showtopic=20445
Winner: We are the champions by Queen
Runners-up:
Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah
Triumphal March from the opera Aida
(Can't) Be Without You (Baby) by Mary J
Love by Destiny's Child
The Phantom Menace
the Return of the Jedi Celebration

Naturally, such occasion would warrant writing original Harmonian lyrics:

I'm a Pumpkin Pie soldier-matter of fact, I reported for duty
Right when Emerson kicked us right in our booties
And wrote our ship off, but now we've gone
From our butts getting kicked to our butts getting kissed!

That will make platinum for sure.

And if, heaven forbid, something would go terribly wrong, they are ready for it, too:
What if we lost? What would our loss song be?
http://talk.portkey.org/index.php?showtopic=20435&st=0
Winner:
"White Flag" by Dido
Runners-up:
Throwback by Usher,
My Boo by Usher and Alicia Keys,
Emotion by Destiny's Child
So Sick by Ne-Yo.
Move Along by The All-American Rejects
Help! By The Beatles.
TITANIC is "My Heart Will Go On".
Beethoven's Seventh Symphony

Now look what they did! I will have these stuck in my head all day!
But in the end, they are true believers!
WE WON'T LOOSE
HHR FOREVER

Ah, Harmonians! Never change!

Right. Maybe I'm just slow - I mean, I ship H/G - but shouldn't the "Yay, we won" songs be ... love songs?

Oh, right, I forgot. They care more about winning than about the fictional relationship that Matters So Much.

Which is at least legit, since winning is real and fictional characters aren't, but ... yeah.

Hmm. I can think of a better Queen song that already strongly applies to the cesspool of Harmony fandom. Namely:

You got mud on your face
You big disgrace
Somebody better put you back in your place

And I suppose "Fat Bottom Girls" can be the official theme for everyone who splooged all over themselves while the point of JKR's recent weight-matters rant soared over their heads like a majestic eagle.

Somehow, I can't help thinking that Beethoven would be horribly offended to see his work listed next to more or less everything else on that list. (With the exception of the few that are actually good)

Wait, so if they lose, they will use a song from Titanic (a godawful song at that, from a godawful film), which will pretty much act as a metaphor for their ship being sunk?

Is it wrong that I should actually find it compelling that my head is suddenly filled with images of panicked Harmonians running around in terror as they re-enact the scenes from the only good part of the movie where the ship is sinking?

As long as these images don't feature Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, and especially not James Bloody Cameron, I will find this hilarious.

Yes. Because Harry and Hermione would both love, LOVE to sit around, clutched in each other's embrace, listening to USHER.

Harmoanians, I'm disappointed. Where's the Bonnie Tyler? Total Eclipse of the Heart, c'mon! Bcuz Hermy and Hairy wud totally hav 2 have eclipses of the hearsts!!!!1

Or hey, Meatloaf. Harmoanians will do anything for love (read between the lines, discuss at length the significance of toast, nail Ginny to the cross), but they won't do R/Hr.

Argh, now I'm just giving them ideas.
