Well, Didn't You Know?
JKR developed her characters so perfectly that they fall entirely in line with their zodiacal signs! Which, of course, is proof Ron and Hermione hate each other, and two Leos can't date.

Nevermind that Ron is the strangest Picses I've ever seen.

Bonus mini-"JKR must have read the same site I read!" comment from...bum bum bum! Lockedinaroom! Not to mention the whole thing opens up with an "H/G is incestuous!" comment.

Thanks to a quiet, shy mouse on wank report. Now, astrologers, bust out yer charts!

Whee! She lists ten Pisces characteristics for Ron, and bolds three of them as being accurate. Am I supposed to be impressed? Is that considered a good success rate in Harmony land?

Now for the Harry/Ginny ship i have only one problem-if Harry considers Ron his brother and the Weasley's his adoptive family ergo a relationship with Ginny will be insestious.

Well, then Harry must like Ron more than Hermione, else he would consider her his sister and that would be incestuous too. Thanks, Harmonians!

One of the stupidest things I've ever seen.

Even if we are assuming the accuracy of astrology, I would sooner look to real-world experience than to lists of vague likes and dislikes. I have a relative who's a Virgo and a real Hermione-type; all of her best friends are born under Pisces, and two of them even have the SAME birthday, about six months and a day before hers! Before JKR said so, I thought Ron wouldn't be a bad Taurus either, and was surprised when I learned on Sunday that that was the birthday of the man married to a friend of mine who's also a Virgo; their birthdays are about four months apart. When I looked this up on astrology web sites I found that both Virgo-Pisces and Virgo-Taurus are considered to be pretty good pairs, as they are Earth-Water and Earth-Earth matches. Virgo-Leo? Not happening. Earth-Fire. Bad combination, according to those who take this very seriously. And Leo-Leo! A fiery love match, one of the best! The best Leo match is supposedly Leo-Aries (another Fire-Fire match) but Leo-Sagittarius works too for Fire-Fire.

And where does anyone get off making Luna an Aquarius? How the hell do THEY know? Idiots. I don't really believe in astrology and I know more about it than these morons trying to use this to support their grudges against canon ships! Astrology doesn't mean certain couples are or aren't going to be together, after all. The AUTHOR decides that. (Something else they don't understand or recognize.)

PheonixWriter says:

But if argued H/Hr are closer than R/Hr you got at least 5 different R/HR shippers claiming R/Hr are best friends too....it used to confuse the hell out of me. Friends, lovers or both?

Yes, one certainly must decide whether to sleep with a person or be friendly with them. Can't have any of that friendship stuff mucking up potential romance! It's definitely impossible to be friends AND lovers! The only kind of friendship is platonic friendship! Of course, things get confusing when you consider platonic friendship to be defined the same way as romantic friendship, and then are forced to reverse that same logic

And hell, only five of us would claim that? Methinks s/h/it is underestimating the R/Hr numbers, just a tad.

"Hermione is much too precise, logical and, well, critical for a dreamy Pisces like Ron."
-Annearchy

Whaaa? Ron, dreamy? I would be all indignant and say "bitch, please" and give logical citations for why dreamy is a horrible description of Ron, but I'm still just going "bzuh?" I cannot stand the way they try to force Ron and Luna together by making Ron into a proto-Luna who's goofy and out of it. Ron is not dreamy, dammit! Emotional and prone to jumping to conclusions =/= dreamy. Just...what?

I hate to argue with such an incredibly precise science as astrology, but I'm a Libra and a number of my close friends are of the opposing sign of Aries. The couple I know who have been together the longest (14 years and counting) are a Capricorn and an Aquarius, who shouldn't get along at all. Shock horror! Maybe astrology isn't true after all!!!

Harry = Leo, Hermione = Virgo, Ron = Pisces, Bill = Sagittarius, Charlie = Sagittarius, Draco = Genimi, Percy = Leo, Fred & George = Aries, Ginny = Leo, Neville = Leo

Let it be noted that none of the Leos are very Leo-like, Draco is somewhat Gemini-like, Ron is so not a Pisces, The Twins aren't very Arien (but it's interesting that the opposite sign of Aries is Libra, which is a sign of partnership) Charlie and Bill are very Sagittarian and and Hermione is very Virgo. That being said, of the above choices, the best matches, astrologically speaking, would be: Fred/George, Fred/Draco, Neville, Ginny, Percy, Bill, Charlie or Harry/George, Draco/Harry, Percy, Ginny or Neville (although the two would make better rivals than lovers), Draco/Charlie or Bill, Hermione/Hermione, Hermione/Ron (maybe, but it's going to be had won, though it's interesting to note that Virgo and Pisces are opposite signs)

Harry and Hermione *might* hook up, but the relationship would be nothing but constant bickering. And Ginny and Draco might also hook up, but that would also be a hard won relationship.

Annnd, I think that's it. /wank

TL;DR ahead. I'm warning you now. But as someone who knows something about astrology, I've got tp speak up.

Well, Neither Ron nor Hermione is a Leo.

And your statement about Ron being the strangest Pisces you've ever seen--Pisces is just plain weird anyway. There's just no making sense of them. Overall, it works. Pisces doesn't always mean that the person is particularly empathetic. Having, and I quote, "the emotional range of a teaspoon", is quite possible. However, the thing is that he knows that Hermione gets off on making things the way she wants them, so he'll throw in a bit of chaos just to give her something to do.

However, Hermione is your typical anal-retentive Virgo, and the only thing about Harry that isn't in proper form for a Leo is his hair--Leos have the best hair of the Zodiac.

Ginny strikes me as either a Cancer or Scorpio. They're the only ones that could hold on to a crush for that long. If it's the former, Harry/Ginny will either be awesomely good for the both of them or awesomely horrible for everyone around them, depending on how things go between them (and Moon signs and ascendants--possibly throw in Venus and whatever's in the fourth and eighth houses. The latter just doesn't really work well.

As for Leo/Virgo, it just doesn't work well. Most of the H/Hr fics I've read (and I've read a lot of them) push Harry's birthday back a couple of weeks. Cancer/Virgo isn't that bad of a relationship, though it would bore everyone around them. I generally don't hold such things against authors, though, as I'm a Cancer myself, and I love it when the Crab goes home happy.

I'd like to propose the out-there theory that maybe, just maybe, JKR didn't have her astrology chart on hand when she was deciding the birthdays of her characters.

Of course, that would imply that the H/Hr shippers are reading too much into the books, and we all know they'd never do that.
