Please Stop Overanalyzing Things OR Man, I'm Glad You're Not an Ex
We're about due for another loss of collective IQ points, right? We are? Well, in that case, check out What canon points make you worry that R/Hm could really happen?

srikant61: I alw ays thought that the love interest of the main character should be sealed firstand not his best friend. JKR did say that we should have worked out who does hermione like as friend Harry or ron?Why should the main character like Harry fall for a secondary character like Ginny when all he needs is Hermione., this woman who has literally breathed and lived for harry.

Nathaniel: [paraphrased for tl;dr's sake] I still believe canon points to H/Hr, but JKR made it apparent in the IoD that it's OBHWF. She was being pretty damn blunt about it. Stop reading so far into things and redefining words, you delusional fucktards.

Vanceone: I don't think I'd go that far, Nathaniel. She wasn't as blunt as she could have been--she has never sunk H/Hr. She's never said "H/Hr won't happen." Indeed, she does seem to be trying to point like a magician--"nothing up my sleeve with H/hr... it's OBWHF all the way!"
But I think she went too far... and I don't know. Would she change her story to OBHWF so she can say she never lied in the interviews? She might.

SweetHarmony: 1. first this book is not about Ron and The HOw he will get Laid or get date.
2. This is story of one boy's journey to life..and everything that in it..that will make "Harry' survive.
3. Having friendship, bravely and Love is all he needed to live and Hermione will gave him that to win over war of Voldy and his groon.

brown: I looked up the word "know" in the dictionary - one of the definitions is "to have fixed in the mind". Let's rewrite JKR's sentence: We now have it fixed in our minds that it's R/Hr. Let me just add to that thought, Harry knew it was Snape trying to steal the stone. Just because something is believed to be true, doesn't make it the truth.

Hermione Potter: Does JKR honestly believe that Hermione should fall for an nincompoop such as Ron? Are we to understand that perhaps Ron was showing another side of himself to Hermione off page? If not, then I just don't understand the attraction. Maybe it's me, but I just find Ron as physically unattractive with a demeanor and personality to match. I picture the actors as the characters, and I think Rupert just isn't handsome. Not one bit. (I did warn you all I was going to be shallow!)

See Salamon2's verbal diarrhea on how poor people are driven insane when they feel they owe someone a debt because they've acted like an asshole and this insanity causes them to ... act like an asshole some more. Therefore, R/Hr SUCKS! Thank you.

srikant61: I don't want to make a personal attack on the author but surely she must have learnt something out of her first relationship. I believe that it had also ended on a fight. I had expected a bit more maturity from the author concerning relationships about her characters . I thought she was writing for kids to learn the message of love, not for normal adults like us to get repulsed by reading the R/Hr in the books.

Nathaniel:Book 6 showed me personally why Ron and Hermione are not suited. It showed me why they simply can not work, even for a day. It showed me why any attempt at a romantic relationship Ron and Hermione would lead to an explosion between the two of them that would make Hiroshima look like a hand-made soda-bottle bomb (I hope I did not offend anybody with that reference).

srikant61: Also one thing why did Ron break his figurine of Krum that he had got at the world cup?
Was he jealous about Kum dating Hermione?
My reasons are that he regarded Krum as his hero and was betrayed by him feeling that the guy was not talking to him but talking to his other best friend, bookworm hermione.
Similarly dumbledore was harry's hero of sorts But he was extremely angry and lost faith in him after the events of year 5 as well as the DoM.

I would like to hear your opinions on Dumbledore/Harry yaoi this subject.

I'm starting to think my opinion about the movies leaning H/Hr is actually just me. We may be at a standstill. :P

Actually, it's you, all Harmonians and many sane people as well (me being one of them, lol). I think they do show H/Hr but at the same time, they promote Hermione as a flawless heroine, and that naturally leads to her being hero's partner/girlfriend.

I think a big, big part of it is the way PoA left Ron in the infirmary for the last chunk of the film. So much happened with Harry, Hermione, and the timeturner, and because Ron just wasn't present, the entire last chunk of the film is just Harry and Hermione.

Yeah. Just too darn bad that was the way it was in the book, too. Darn that JKR! Leaving out Ronniekins!

I mean "they do show R/Hr", lol, sorry for that. And it means that no matter how many H/Hr scenes are from the books, the fact that Hermione has Ron's lines and always saves the day does change the book balance.
