Oh HP fen...
Grabbed from wank_report. This is a week old, so the wank has pretty much stopped, but that's no reason not to post this.

The main action takes place on Yahoo!group Pottersplace3. (The comm is public, so the links should work).

Oh where to begin. Well, the wank seems to have started due to discussion generated over the story Winter Solace. Don't bother reading it, as the wank has nothing to do with it.

It all really begins with this post by Keith, discussing H/G and the character of Hermione. It's in this post that he mentions the message board Dark Lord Potter henceforth known as DLP. This mention brings DLP members out of the woodwork, as well as discussion about the actions of some DLP members. Enter Vash with TL;DR greetings from DLP. There's some scuffling between DLP people and non-members and then the gloves come off. With good reason, Keith responds. For note, Keith = Kinsfire. And things explode. Also, Keith is calling in the lawyers.
Some are confused. After all, it's just the Intarweb! Or is it? From there, we have the usual posts: I'm leaving, All for the lulz, Just stop already, and LOL legal threats? Meanwhile, Kinsfire takes it to DLP. And there's even a separate thread on the PP3.

I'm sure there's a lot more backstory to this, so if you know it, feel free to post about it.

ETA: For note, you do have to be logged into Yahoo to see the messages. However, I'm fairly sure some of them are reproduced in the DLP threads.
