Everbody into the boat; the flood is starting early.
D: Anybody who wanks that energetically has to be underage.

My thanks, still, to [info]shallow_kid for the amusement and to [info]sheep for the truly magnificent save. Thanks also to LJ's Tartanboxers for hosting it for us while it lasted.

You're all welcome to stay in the boat for the next two weeks.

Now I'm curious...what exactly were the spoilers?

Nora compiles some(?) of them here.

halo2the_a's spoilers:

1. Harry rides the Knight Bus early on in the book.

2. Snape and Hagrid snuff it. Neville almost dies, but he's alive at the end. Fawkes sacrifices his existence for Harry.

3. Regulus Black is associated with Lily in a VERY unexpected plot twist.

4. Voldemort is sustaining his health with the help of a magical creature.

5. Harry is a horcrux through his scar, but he does not die.

6. Harry and Voldemort go behind the veil at the department of mysteries where Sirius guides Harry's soul. Harry is ALIVE at the end.

rockyou333's spoilers:

1. Harry DOES get a new pet. But it is an intelligent creature who winds up playing an important role in the plot.

2. Harry DOES go back to Hogwarts, convinced by Mcgonagol and Hermione. He only stays a short while.

3. Harry becomes head of the Order, much against his will.

4. Regulus Black makes an appearance and there is a really shocking connection to Lily. Harry does see the true form of Lily again.

5. The two main character deaths are Hagrid and Snape. Snape stays "evil" but winds up saving Harry's life. Neville appears to die in a scene near the end but we find out that he is alive. Harry does NOT die.

6. The good guys have to deal with Voldemort's recruitment of an assortment of magical races/creatures.

7. Harry IS a horcrux.

8. Grawp makes a reappearance and saves Hermione's life in one scene.

9. Luna is a big character again.

10. Ginny plays a brief but crucial role.

11. Both Harry and Voldemort go behind the veil in the department of mysteries. There, of course, Sirius plays a role again, but he does NOT come back to life.

12. Harry and Ginny do NOT get back together although they do talk about it. Ron and Hermione are a couple at the beginning of the book but Hermione confesses that she loves Harry romantically. Harry is confused but he winds up kissing her in a climatic scene near the end. Ron gets together with Luna.

13. There is a monumental phenomenon that all muggles can see when Voldemort is defeated.

14. Fawkes saves Harry's life yet again.

Thanks. I'm surprised that 12 would give them hope. It seems like it would be such a poorly written way for them to get what they want- kinda like HBP- OH SNAP!

Seriously, I was one of "the few" that liked HBP.

I liked HBP, too, I just thought the romance was a little awkward and wish she'd done Harry/Ron, the whore.

Since it was romance between teenagers, which is almost always sloppy and awkward and embarrassing, I didn't mind the way it was written in HBP. But I still totally wish it would turn out to be Harry/Ron. JKR could say "LOL gay! Anvils, motherfuckers!" and laugh as the entire fandom shits itself.

I think even all but the most batshit of slashers would have been all BZUH?! What was she thinking?

I liked HBP. In re-reading I can also see the arguments for the romance being "clunky", but only when those arguments come from rational people.

*raises hand in like of HBP*

You know, the parts involving Voldemort, Snape, Draco Dumbledore, Vows and Horcruxes? Not as important as who's boinking who, I'm sure, but it interested me anyway.

If there had been more of that and less of 'OMG Slughorn's modified memories that really won't do us much good, actually' and the badly-written, cringingly bad 'romance', I might have enjoyed that book. Too many chapters just seemed to draaaaaaag on, and this is coming from someone who has been known to enjoy a Beckett play.

Not one of "the few." There's no indication that people not crazily overinvested in ships or Snape disliked it any more than the others.

Certainly not professional reviewers. Or casual fans.

A) 4. Voldemort is sustaining his health with the help of a magical creature.</I. Duh. Her name is Nagini. We found this out in the FOURTH BOOK before he had a body and in the sixth book once we found out she's probably a horcrux. How is that spoiler? You cannot spoil DH for stuff that happened in the first six books! B) That said, I don't know how anyone can take these things seriously when they can't even spell McGonagall properly.

Was it something along the lines of how we've been there and done that already in the books? Not just once, but TWICE?

And how that makes it not a spoiler but actually cold hard canon? Yes, yes it was. :D

Some of those actually sound cool (for example, I would kind of like to see what kind of "shocking" connection RAB would have to Lily if it were a real spoiler.)

I think it was something about him being an obstetrician and birthing Harry... yeah, never mind the fact he dies in '79. Or maybe that was a theory that some one suggested because of that spoiler, I'm not sure.

Awwww, I was hoping that they would have either been long lost relatives, or secret lovers. Or both. Or gay. Or meerkats.

They were completely made up by an under-aged Harmonian prankster. He was trying to get OBHWF fans to wank, but inadvertently got his own shipmates wanking, too.

Snape and Hagrid snuff it. Neville almost dies, but he's alive at the end. Fawkes sacrifices his existence for Harry.

I can actually buy that. Of course, I already expect Hagrid to bite it (the curse of having a color for a name, you see).

How would Fawkes go about that? He already swallowed a Killing Curse into his belly, burned and got born right back up again.

Mostly I just meant the first bit, with Snape and Hagrid dying and Neville getting hurt.

But who's to say a phoenix couldn't do that? I mean, it's not like there are rules.
